When he brought up the guys reducing the cost of lift it was the first thing that came to mind. Like would it come back to haunt us like in Futurama with some gravity **** going on?

John Wilkes Booth 03-26-2015 08:35 PM

i mean as it is it's extremely expensive to leave the earth's orbit. so yea they can try to reduce that but imagine the amount of trash produced vs the amount that could fit in even the biggest rocket. i'm no scientist (surprise surprise) but i can't imagine that would ever become a feasible solution before we discover some more pragmatic way of dealing with trash. unless we ditch the rockets all together and develop some sort of giant sling shot or cannon or some**** that flings our **** into outer space

i remember there was some bacteria discovered in south america that ate plastic or some **** like that...

Was a fungus. Weighed against the long term cost of storage shooting trash into the sun is still unreasonable expensive though lol. Best solution for now is just recycling more so the landfills don't build up so fast. Some of the ideas are fun (and crazy) though. Like if that whole fission thing ever gets ironed out putting the plasma to garbage and rendering it to bare elements.

I'd have never guessed Earth Day would rub people so wrong.

I seem to remember reading that for every pound you put on a space shuttle, it meant like a million more gallons of fuel had to be used (or whatever unit of measurement they use for fuel).

Nah, let's just leave our cars running until the batteries run out, put one sock into the laundry machine and put in on full cycle, and use paper towels instead of sponges.

John Wilkes Booth 03-26-2015 09:18 PM

all bull**** aside, you want to know my one contribution to the environment?

i try my best not to use plastic bags when i'm in stores.

i'll still use them if i need them. like if i'm buying more items than i can carry out then yea i'll take the bags

but there seems to me something absurd about buying one or two items and having them put it in a bag. like i'll buy a single tube of toothpaste and the bitch will put it in a bag so i can carry it out. the **** do i need handles for to carry out a ****ing box of toothpaste?

so i always tell them no bag if i don't need one, and they look at me like i'm pulling some sort of strange stunt. really get the most puzzled looks telling some bitch at walmart not to bag my 2-3 items. sometimes they even give me an attitude cause they already put the **** in a bag and then i take it out.

it's pretty funny to me. cause the only reason i can think that an adult human would use a bag to carry out a box of toothpaste is social convention. that and the store uses it to help them identify who's paid and who hasn't. but that's not my problem, is it? figure out some way to track your inventory that doesn't involve creating needless trash, ya c*nts.

anyway, that's my one contribution to the environment. and i realize it makes no difference but it just feels so ridiculous for me to use a bag to carry out 2-3 items that i refuse to do it.

Just go the distance, buy a couple of those collapsible reusable grocery bags. Feels weird at first bringing your own bag to go shopping but a lot of people go to Walmart in yoga pants so screw it.

I still do what Captain Planet taught me when I brush my teeth. Turn the faucet on only to wet my toothbrush and rinse my mouth out as opposed to leaving it on the entire time.
