How I spent my summer saturday

I like to spend my saturdays of the summer playing tennis in the morning, basketball in the afternoon, running at night, and midnight swims in pool. I've managed to do all except for the swimming, which I did 10 minutes ago. Though it doesn't leave too much time for posts here, I guess a post or 2 a day is sufficient to contribute to this forum. If anyone else asks why the forum is so dead, I would like to say that maybe it's a good thing. Maybe some of us here are actually enjoying the outdoors for a change, experiencing the rapturous weather that many don't usually get.

If you have the time, I would suggest you try a physical activity with your friends. Arrange a game, you'll enjoy it. I know I have.

SATCHMO 07-16-2005 07:27 PM

I enjoy the great outdoors every time I step outside for a cigarette.

sleepy jack 07-16-2005 08:09 PM

I split wood for elderly folks all morning...listening to die my darling for 2 hours straight hell yeah it was...lame :P

migg106 07-16-2005 08:20 PM

it's possible to have a life outside this forum and still have an hour a day to go check out the new posts you know....
i spend my saturdays in the summer cleaning our apartments in the morning and greeting guests and i go swiming with my boat in the afternoon and in the evening i go to a club or a bar......

god i hate bullshit like this....yes you're the only one who has a life and we're all to stupid to realise that there is something other then this forum to enjoy.......

Zealious 07-17-2005 07:01 AM

come on dude.... thats just insulting... youre basically saying we dont have a life other than this forum and we should all get off our lazy arses and do something.... i know there are other things than this forum and i take the time to enjoy them, but i like to spend an hour or so each day to see what others have to say and learn about some new music and offer my opinions and advice and i dont think that makes me lazy or says that i dont have a life... i agree with what adidasss said......

sleepy jack 07-17-2005 07:47 AM

I think hes just saying maybe we should all get a little bit healhy and work.

anticipation 07-17-2005 08:00 AM

I was merely suggesting to enjoy the summer...

Trust me, if I wanted to insult you I would have done it already.

i know, but you said it in such a way that you were saying we were all too lazy to get out there when many of us are already enjoying it.... i just think that it was said in a really condescending tone, thats all......

phoenixflames 07-17-2005 10:27 PM

The outdoors is good. Hiking is good. Camping is good. Physical activity is good. Whether you share in it with others is personal preferance. Good post Zealious! Thanks for the reminder. Don't forget to watch the stars while you are out at night.

if this isn't condacending bullshit i don't know what the fuck is...
i've run in to posts like this on other forums and when i saw this one my blood pressure sky rocketed...every now and then someone gets the bright idea to tell other people using the interent that they should do it less and go outside more, impliying we're all glued to the fucking computer screen and we're all developing muscle atrophy because our ass is nailed to the computer chair, basicaly implaying we're all fat computer geeks and your so motherfucking perfect, you are the only one that knows what's good in life and how to enjoy it properly!!
life and enjoyment is a subjective thing....if you like playing basketball or doing other group activities that doesn't mean other do....
also many people ( including me ) find surfing a relaxing activity after a busy day of studying or working....
unless you're 95 years old and have been arround the world once or twice you have no business giving other people advice on how to live their lives....

go do something then you lazy bastard.... the only people that would get offended by this thread are fat asses or losers that post on forums too much....

just my honest opinion

anticipation 07-18-2005 09:17 AM

i agree wiff jimmy. AKA james earl jones

Sneer 07-18-2005 09:18 AM

^i dont think your in the position tell someone how to live their life.

anticipation 07-18-2005 09:19 AM

oh ya, well why dont you go make me a sandwich.

phoenixflames 07-18-2005 11:52 AM

Calm down people... If the tread offends you, dont read it. Easy as that. The outdoors are something that has been enjoyed for 100's of years, but if you don't want to go outside than don't. Zealious isan't calling you lazy or fat and neither am I. We are simply saying we enjoy it and are trying to tell others that. Chill out...

Fenixpunk 07-18-2005 12:33 PM

id go outside more if it wasnt 120 degrees. As it is i work my typical 5 days/40 hours, spend 2 nights a week at my kids swim meets, band practice, and still find time to keep the house organized, food in the fridge, bills paid on time, cars in running condition, wife happy, pets groomed, lawn clean, and teach my son how to do fun things like drawing on the walls with chalk, playing basketball and t-ball, etc. etc. Life gets busy fast, sometimes i wish i could go back in time and not have any cares except for how im gonna lounge away my days over the summer.

i wasn't offended by his post, merely pissed off with the tone of it....
he was assuming we're spending too much time on this forum, i think it's pretty presumptuous of him to think he knows anything about my life or the lives of other people on this forum....

my definition of a loser is someone who gets offended by a person explaining what they do for fun over the summer.

your right theres nothing wrong with fat people (besides the risk of heart disease and diabetes). i never said there was, i was implying that those kind of people would be offended by this thread.

oh please, his post was obviously not about describing his summer saturdays but rather about preaching on how to live your life...his advice in the end proves it ....
if he wanted to share on how he spends his summer afternoons his post should have gone like this : "well, on summer afternoons i like to read books in the park and stare at the clouds contemplating on why God made certain things so beautiful and what the purpose of life is and why the sea is so goddamn blue it makes my eyes water....so how do you beautiful people of musicbanter spend your afternoons? do share!"
not " well i like to see the sun now and then and hang out with my mates...you should try it sometimes...."
notice the difference in the tone?

anticipation 07-18-2005 02:04 PM

ya, youre sooooooooooooo right, jimmy is the Stalin of saturdays.

Zealious 07-18-2005 05:00 PM

Hmmmm, I don't seem to recall calling anyone lazy, fat, and/or a loser. Adidas, take a second and look what you did to my one positive lounge post.

Good job, I didn't know you actually enjoyed making a fool out of yourself in public.

But please, post some more. Its kind of amusing haha.

adidasss 07-18-2005 05:08 PM

well i do enjoy the occasional internet bitch fight.....

hookers with machineguns 07-18-2005 05:23 PM

^ Really? This is news to me.

Basketball is in my veins, I taught Kobe everything he knows. Even that whole bend-the-hotel-clerk-over-the-chair spin move. But seriously, LOVE basketball.

Perfect activity for you guys, including the lazy fat asses, is fishing. You don't even need to be physically fit. Take a blunt and a 12 pack with you, good times guaranteed.

I was about to complain about the upper 90s here in Missouri, but I can't really say sh*t with the 115-120F you guys have in Phoenix. How DO you handle that? I really would like to know.

migg106 07-18-2005 08:02 PM

Ok so this thread started from how to enjoy the outdoors to insults well i just have one opinion.
OUTDOORS SUX ASS!!!!
Comeone people i love playing sports and stuff and when im not outside im inside using the computer so i as a persone who is outside alot can safely say that mabye not everyone in the website maybe fat and lazy like u think but most of us know that if we did everything inside we wouldent even be on a computer expressing our thoughts.

Trauma 07-18-2005 09:13 PM

How the **** do I reply to this thread?

Thank you SooOOOOooOOo much Zealious I post so much on this forum that I was beginning to think my Kitchen was outside!!!
WTF are outdoors?!?!
These things you people speak of are insane!

See, I was a smart-ass but I didn't get pissed off like some fat lazy losers!
:p:

HomesickAtSpaceCamp 07-18-2005 09:45 PM

OK im sorry but this is just stupid. Why the hell does it matter if people you dont know are spending there time inside perhaps on the computer? Your not their mother. How do you know they dont go outside. I personaly hate the outdoors unless its night time. I mean who the **** cares. Its not a big deal. If there fat their fat. If they REALLY wanted to do something about it they would. If they dont who the **** cares. Whoo hoo your active. that great for you. But you dont know these people you shouldnt tell them what to do. expesially if you dont know what they do with there day.
ok im done now.
sorry for my many there and theirs and for any spelling mestakes. i hope me not fixing them makes a difference.

oh god, what a stereotypical image!....i hate stereotypes....
fishing is boring....i've gone fishing for calamari with my dad ( i suppose that's what you call it in english ) with the boat and it was 2 hours of excruciating pain...pull...tug....pull...release....and on and on for two hours to catch 2 calamari?...or is it just that i don't like spending time with my father?

Both. Fishing is no fun anyway. Mind you, I have to take my little brother every so often, and he's just bored within 5 minutes. That might be what puts me off it a little.

SATCHMO 07-19-2005 01:07 PM

Fishing to me isn't about catching fish, its about contemplation - if I'm by myself, or just hangin' out & catchin' a buzz with some friends. If Ihappen to catch a fish or two, hey, bonus!
