So for the last three weeks, I have been distributing a near innumerable amount of CV's and cover letters - but I'm getting the same response each time: "Sorry, unfortunately you do not have enough in-house experience to secure this role."

How the fuck am I expected to acquire this experience if nobody gives me a chance to prove myself? I've been copywriting for a year, and I've achieved positive results with all my jobs. Bullshit. I hate freelancing.

/rant over. TODAY, I spent my time planning a radio slot my friend and I have been given. Our debut is this Tuesday and we're shitting it.
Sheesh, I know what you mean actually. It's like that in a lot of jobs. How is one supposed to get into an industry if every opening requires even a year of prior experience doing the job? So you hunt for the one place that doesn't ask for experience. Is everyone interested in getting into that industry supposed to start at that job? Does the place even exist?

Example, I had read on reddit an AMA on being a police dispatcher and the guy said he was in rural Carolina (not specific on North or South for privacy) and said there weren't really any experience qualifications, just needed to be quick thinking, helpful, etc. but when I saw an opening here for a dispatcher it wanted 2-3 years experience minimum. Blargh. And I see that all the time on Craigslist. "Oh I bet I can do that ... aw damn they won't hire me, I haven't worked in this industry yet"

It's pretty lame. How does one break through?

I'm really ill just now (tonsilitis is my stab in the dark so far) and my cousin bought weed yesterday I had 2 or 3 joints and was perfectly fine. Smoked the 4th and I was in the worst stoned mess I've ever been. I literally never moved for 20mins and my cousin kept laughing which made me freak out and be worse, eventually the dickhead stopped laughing and I felt much better. Was kinda weird though how it was just a regular joint like the rest. Oh well, putting it down to being ill. once I started feeling better it was quality .

I ended up not getting the gas station job. That's the first time I've ever been called and told "Sorry, we're going with someone else, etc." which I thought was awfully nice in a way. Usually they just let you wait and wait and figure "Well, they a'int calling".

Haha I have had that happen. Smoke for hours barely get high. Then suddenly a mystery bowl will destroy you out of nowhere.

Honestly I was wrecked. Didn't even support my own head for the 20mins, it wasn't that I couldn't I just never wanted to move AT ALL. I've never been in a state like that before haha.

I've never been in a state like that before either. I think staying mad stoned all the time keeps me from getting catatonic. But when I have a tolerance break of a few days or more and get stoned, I nearly have anxiety attacks when I start again. But never really gone catatonic.

Well that was the first time I'd smoked in about a week and the last joint was nothing out of the ordinary and was the same as the first 3, but it hit me like a brick wall.

Creeper bud... you're like

"I'm not even stoned."
"Then why are you drooling on yourself"
"Hot damn... I'm baked... I better stop having these internal dialogues with myself"
