I passed the A-levels with distinction. It feels wonderful.

The words of the presiding head of the commission: "You have got all As - Except for the subjects cooking and service."
(I got those Cs last year 'cause my teacher disliked me.) "I'm worried for your future husband!"
Me: -_-
The headmistress, a nun, immediately said: "We're all emancipated."
*laughter from all sides*

I won't let that statement ruin my day, not at all, but it's just hilarious who some people manage to find such words.
That attitude. A little over-top stereotypical in my view.

12:50pm: Leave for work, pull out of parking lot of apartment building; there's a car laying on its side, fire engine and police officers beside it, directing traffic.

1:05pm: Panic mode engaged in full; have to pull over for a while to calm down (I am super affected by seeing stuff like that for some reason)

1:25pm: Get into work, seems like a normal day. Start calming down a little more.

3:30pm: Learn that there's been a shooting in Seattle; feel shaken.

8:45pm (15mins before our store closes): informed that there's helicopters, police dogs, police officers, etc. at the hotel next door; feel thoroughly terrified.

MY DAY HAS BEEN HORRIFYING

Oh man, I get panicky in traffic all the time. You need to drink the anxiety away lol.

I got to see/hold my nephew for the first time today, there were tons of people at the hospital last night so I thought it would be best for me to wait. I know most of the people here aren't too keen on kids but holy shit is he adorable, he looks just like my brother. Not gonna lie though, it makes me a little sad - my sister is pregnant too so it makes it sort of hard for me to forget that I'll never get to experience motherhood.

**** hun. I hope you're okay. I feel really bad about the shooting.

My day was okay, just studied for a bit and picked up some kai. The house manager and I argued over a scrubbing brush. I asked him to buy a new one as the old one was in his room and had hairs, dirt and bacteria all over. He tells me I can use my hands. I say no, how am I meant to get tough food off? Then he tells me I'm being pedantic and I said "wtf, would you clean your dishes with this ****? You're the manager and you're the one that has to deal with this." I know totally first world problems but I don't want to risk getting sick over poor hygiene in the kitchen.

I'm alright. Having a drink before bed to calm me down a little. It's just been a day. I'm pretty far away from where most of the craziness went down but I was terrified while the unknown ruckus was going on next door. I work in an area heavily populated by crackheads and crazy people, but my anxiety is nothing in comparison to how those students felt at that college this morning when some crazy piece of shit opened fire on them.

I never thought something like that would happen here.

I think a lot of people would feel the same. You just never know what might happen, there are some pretty messed up people out there. Glad to hear you had some booze to calm down - when I experienced the first terrible earthquake in Christchurch I had a bottle of red wine so I downed a whole glass to help me calm the **** down.

Today was unexpectedly good, i went to visit a friend and we went to a "Cultural workshop' which is basically a community center for artsy hipsters but they were very nice and even served some kind of organic jumbo for free lol

We went there cause my friend was gonna jam with some ppl there but i ended up joining them with the guitar and it was great but we had a weird lineup of instruments, we had

2 guitars
2 synthesizers
1 cello
1 saxophone
1 trumpet
1 electronic drums

My friend knew them but he had never played with them (he played the synthesizer btw) and i didn't know anybody but we ended up playing like 5 songs and the other ppl in the workshop gathered around and cheered us like we were doing a rock show when we were just musicians messing around.

it was a really basic jam with basic progressions so we could all follow it but the trumpeter was pretty good and elaborated a bit and the Cello girl just rocked it she was really good.

They streamed the show online through youstream i think.
