Didn't FF get scrapped after like one season? I think I heard it was a great show but never caught on.

Yes, it got cancelled after one season... so it's an easy show to watch. Do Freaks and Geeks while you're at it.

The streets are really weird there and there's always huge clusters of pedestrians everywhere.

My father lived in south Minneapolis some time before I was born. He told me when I was older that he used to get off work and go straight to his apartment, never looking back or around, never stopping for anything - and ran straight up the stairs. My dad's not a paranoid kind of guy but he was terrified. One rare occasion when he had to go to the gas station, his trip was ruined because someone was holding the attendant at gunpoint.

Good old Mpls.

Are you new to the area?
Totally new. Hadn't even visited before now. I'm not seriously concerned about crime since I lived in a third world country to a year, but I'm very excited about how big and advanced it all is. It also seems to have a very active art scene, which I'm elated about. Do you recommend any places to visit?

I'd still be careful and just mindful of your surroundings at all times.

I don't remember the actual city very well as I spent more time in the suburbs (namely Brooklyn Center) years ago. There's a really hip little 50s diner down there where all the girls wear poodle skirts and the guys wear suits, but that's about all I remember (very stoned that year).

It rains so hard here sometimes you can't sleep through it.

Try this: Six months of snow. Seriously, my baseball season's opening day was postponed this year, because the fields still had snow on them. In ****ing May.

I lived in Massachusetts on the border of New Hampshire for my first 37 years. We had a few years like that. This was a total trip.

Wow. That's one awful winter. 1.88 billion USD (today's money) in damage!?

I've only been there once, but it did seem to have a great art scene. I've known quite a few people who've lived there and have never gotten the impression that it was particularly dangerous or anything like that.

One place I went to when I was there which you might get a kick out of is Nye's Polonaise. Good Polish food, great live polka music, and an interestingly mixed crowd of young punk types rubbing elbows with elderly people.

That place looks a little pricey for my thin wallet, but also looks delicious, so I'll try to make it out there some time. Gotta love sausages and kraut.
