You missed the point. The band released the album and lots of people dug it so it was successful in that regard.

I could see it working really well with a few songs off of LZ1 for sure.

Fair enough but my opinion is the only one that concerns me. What do you think of the record?

I don't own it. I did see the concert on TV and it was pretty cool. Like Bat said, some songs worked a lot better than others. It's always cool seeing dressed up orchestra musicians rocking out though.

This was a good project, IMO. Not something I would add to the rotation these days, but I can respect that they did something like this. For what they are, the songs don't sound that bad.

I think it's just a way for over-the-hill rockers trying to look like they're experimental and relevant to stroke their egos. S&M is alright, but ultimately nothing but a pointless novelty record.

Here's a great example of it working IMO. Page and Plant with two different orchestral backings.
