Friends of mine asked me last minute to go into the city with them to see Dr. Dog and Mewithoutyou at the Bowery Ballroom. Haven't been to a show in forever so I went even though I'm not a fan of Dr. Dog and I haven't listened to Mewithoutyou since high school. I spent the second half of Dr. Dog's set downstairs using the bathroom as freely as I wanted and parking my ass at the bar and having the cute waitress pour alcohol into my mouth. Mewithoutyou was really good. I'm going to get back into their albums. I also met most of the band at the bar which was next to their merch stand. Bunch of cool dudes.

I'm hungover.

I can see the Beatles, as their later albums were so chock full of layers and whatnot that they weren't even able to tour them, but does a straight-up blues rock album like Led Zeppelin I gain anything from an orchestra?

...according to them it did. I didn't think it transferred that well, plus a lot of the songs were slowed down.

Well, the album hit #2 in the US and sold over 6 million copies here so I guess a lot of their fans agreed.

Except it only really worked on their eighties material. All the post-Justice material sounded much more bland.
