Pulled this from the bitch box. It's better suited here, if anyone is interested in my sorrows as of late.

I did better than I expected. I think all the beer before we left for the wake helped a bit. I was floored at how many people were there though. I knew he was in some local bike chapter, but I had no idea of just how huge they were. I couldn't even park in the funeral homes' parking lot. I had to park way down the street (as most everyone else did). It was a madhouse inside, and out. A large tailgating party was going on just outside the main entrance, and inside I felt like I was at some amusement park, where I had to wait in line to pay my respects. The line was a bit long as I waited and listened to my friends remark on how many people were there. We slowly moved up to where Larry's widow, and his two kids were gracing everyone's condolences just before Larry, who was laid out in his Sunday best. We finally made our way. The youngest one lit up a bit as he slowly realized who I was and said my name loudly. The older one was really quite shaken by it all, as was understandable. I gave them both and Julie a hug as I remarked on how many people were there. Her eyes widened and she exclaimed "I know! This is incredible!". We were both in a bit of disbelief at it all, but then again, Larry was that kind of guy. Always with a smile and a witty remark. Always helping those in need around him. He'd helped me when I needed it most in my life at one point, and I'm forever grateful. It was a fitting send-off for a loyal friend, brother, and outstanding person. He will be missed greatly.

We all have to go sometime. Let's hope we can get a similar (if maybe smaller) type of sendoff.

Again, RIP.

I remember that. You waited for like a week to go the hospital and never had surgery.

If I can get a fraction of what I witnessed yesterday, it'd be grand.

You're pretty lucky, I think. I thought that if a burst appendix wasn't treated right away, it usually means death; it's like poison to your intestines.

As opposed to my fully functional, highly useful appendix?
