I have just the solution:

You could always try running into a trash can whilst checking her out. Hopefully, she'll hear the bump, turn around, and mistake you for an ex-boyfriend. Then she'll holler out the wrong name in hopes of telling said exboyfriend off, and then when she feels foolish for the mistake, you can swoop in and impress her by pulling off a flawless impersonation of "Smeigel" to show her that you're not just another pretty face but are, in fact, willing to make an ass out of yourself in order to gain her number. And when you walk her out to her car that night, rub her shoulders if she gets cold. And if she happens to fart on you, that's a good sign because she is evaluating whether you are potential boyfriend material with her Fart Filtration System.

At least... Thats exactly how it worked for me and my husband

Did you get her number? Giving yours out is usually not the best idea, since it puts the ball in her court. Personally Im not a fan of waiting on them.

Ayyy sounds like you're just mad I didn't have to use Tinder

And no I didn't get hers initially but she did text me and we've been flirting back and forth since. And yeah I'm having trouble planning a date, the last time I as a single man took a girl out I was ****ing 16. Things a little different now lol

You don't have to use tinder. It's just an addition to the repertoire. No stigma dude

My advice for a first date is either just go for drinks or do something that you want to do anyway (driving range, sporting event, art show, whatever) but try and key it to what she likes if she mentions something. If you do go for dinner don't make it too fancy. Like a non-franchised Mexican or pizza place (preferably that sells booze, not necessarily to get drunk but it at least shows that its an "adult" restaurant).

My first thought about taking her out for drinks initially is that it seems maybe sort of tacky and like the only thing I'm looking for is to get laid (which, I mean, I'm all for but I wouldn't mind having to wait through a few dates first). Luckily the campus and surrounding area of Indiana University is filled to the brim with **** to do so I'll figure something out.

lol @ grindy I'm going to try and avoid that as long as possible, or at least try to tell the ex ahead of time so she can be elsewhere. Frankly she'd probably be understanding of the situation and oblige

Meh nah I think drinks are just an easy way to get to know someone in a public environment - youre forced to talk to each other and focus on the conversation. Plus having a drink or two takes the edge off and makes a first date less awkward. Not like youre getting blackout drunk haha

In recent 9tales developments, I met this chick at a museum event on the weekend while I was drunk as hell and on Adderall. Apparently we talked about what I do for a living and I guess she liked it and I ended up giving her my number for some reason (yes this is exactly what I told yorke not to do but I don't even remember much of this convo). anyway she called me today and wants to talk about me potentially having an interview with her company. Now im kind of thinking this is a pyramid scheme but im going to meet up with her and see how this goes. I like my job and have no real interest in what shes selling im just doing this for the potential funny story.

cant remember if she was hot though. curiosity killed the cat.
