If it makes you feel any better, I have to wear a headset to hear the drive-thru customers, and everybody from every race, gender, and age group sound alike, with only small variations in how high-pitched (annoying) their voices are. All black men sound alike. All white women sound alike. All everyone sounds alike. It's astonishing just how dehumanizing a cheap intercom is.
And I'm sure we all thought that fast food employees were morons before we worked as one (assuming you've had the pleasure), but that doesn't hold a candle to what we think of you. Oh my god you're all idiots. How many times have you been to a god damn Burger King and you still have to stare at the menu for ten minutes, and start every single sentence with, "Can I get, uh..." Not even joking. If I made a drinking game out of that sentence fragment, I would be dead in under an hour.
So I'm basically listening to the same six morons tell me exactly how much my life is going to suck for the next two-to-ten minutes, like some unintentionally sadistic game of Simon Says, and after five hours I'm about ready to start picking people off from the nearest belltower.
