Bought a Focusrite Audio Interface so I can start recording again. Got everything hooked up and the damn thing doesn't work.

I spent a good portion of my day teaching our remote graphic designer how to use InDesign CC. She's our designer and I'm our app developer / resident IT.

The process was painful. She'd email me questions about how to do her job, I'd Google the answer, and email her back. After the fifth email, I learned that she'd only taught herself the application a few months ago.

And she's our lead designer.

The clincher was when she sent packaged INDD artwork which was completely unusable because she designed it on a Mac without even asking for our font library. All of the faces were missing and unusable due to Mac licensing restrictions. I had to explain to our CEO that simply needed to use any of several free font collection manager applications to install our company's font library (which doesn't work the other way around), and to design using only our library. Because industry.

Her response?

"That sounds hard. Why don't you guys just buy a Mac?"

This chick is getting paid to work from home in her jimjams while I Google her job for her.
