There's a part of Tumblr full of people with almost satirically progressive gender/sexuality/whatever politics. People forget how big Tumblr is and associate that subgroup with the whole of it.

So I get a call from Sherri's boyfriend Scott saying he's gonna be in the area and wants to stop by to ask me about some speakers he's thinking of buying.

He gets here and starts with the "You know how much I love your daughter and I promise to do everything to make her happy". I say, "Scott cut to the chase."

He asked my permission to marry her and I gave 200% approval. Lots of man hugging and even a shared cheek kiss ensued.

He's going to ask her with a song he wrote this weekend. I couldn't be any happier for them.
