Today I got up at like 8.40am, then stayed downstairs on my laptop all morning through to the afternoon, till about 3pm in the end I think. It was great to have a day off school, but ugh it made me imagine what life would be like if I were to be doing that everyday, it'd be really boring and ****. It feels pointless really..but then around 4pm it got better cus I had someone to talk to online again. :D Then I've just been doing that all evening.

s_k 05-24-2011 01:08 PM

If you didn't have to go to school, you'd probably have time to start a hobby :)

I finish school tomorrow. :D

I'm thinking of trying to get the summer free for time to do stuff, then getting a job around September time.

s_k 05-24-2011 01:13 PM

How old (young?) are you then?

15. I'll be 16 in July though.

s_k 05-24-2011 01:26 PM

So that would be a temporary job I guess?
Or am I not getting the system? :D

Yeah LOL really. Well like I've chosen not to go onto further education which would be college..I've just decided to get a job. I'd like to do retail work or something like that, but it depends what's available and things first. It's because I sort of have a busy summer planned out even though nothing's definite yet, but I hope it'll all go as I'm like expecting. Then when I'm 18 I'd like to work behind a bar or something. :D

s_k 05-24-2011 01:45 PM

To be very honest, not a very good idea.
I'm not sure what it's like overthere, but overhere it's practically impossible to get anywhere without that ****ty piece of paper...

Oh really? It's fine over here I think...I know lots of people who've done things without getting any grades at all so :p

And I already have three passes on exams so hopefully it'll be okay. :')

s_k 05-24-2011 01:50 PM

I sure hope you'll be okay.
last one tomorrow?

Nope. D:

After tomorrow, I'll have 9 exams left LOL. I've only just started them really...they go on until 27th June.

s_k 05-24-2011 02:08 PM

Oh it's like that.
They're almost done here. My high school exams were... 10 years ago.
Damn :D. I'm getting old.

PrettyInPunk 05-24-2011 08:14 PM

My day so far has included watching childrens cartoons, a cold shower due to the failing hot water system , joining up to this site and the rest of the day will no doubt be spent procrastinating.

Haha, exactly. 27 this summer.
System is quite different here though.
We have 8 years of elementary school and, depending on the level you work on, 4 to 6 years of high school (if you make it all at once). Then you can do colleges on different levels, lowest being "MBO" (Middelbaar beroeps onderwijs, meaning someting like average job schooling), then HBO (Higher job schooling ;D) and university. These take 3 to 6 years, depending on what you study. It's pretty normal for your university to take a lot longer, you can plan it as you wish.

Well I myself did 8 years of elementary, 5 years of high school and one year HBO. And then everything stopped going according to plan :D

ThePhanastasio 05-25-2011 03:04 PM

Going to Ontario (mainly Toronto) for a week in August!!!

My friends and I had been planning it already, but we've got everything arranged. Got a text today telling me to apply for my NEXUS card or just get my passport in order. (NEXUS would be cheaper, even with the drive).

SUPER SUPER SUPER excited! I've never actually been to Canada before. :)

Zer0 05-25-2011 03:26 PM

Had an interview today and I think it went fairly well. Hopefully I'll get some good news back by the end of the week.

I also went wandering around Dublin for a few hours trawling through various record stores and other interesting places. The whole city seemed to be full of tourists, on nearly every street there seemed to be either elderly Americans with baseball caps and cameras pointing at random things or Scottish people walking around in large groups wearing kilts (Ireland are playing Scotland in a soccer match this Sunday). On the train journey up and down I listened to the new Bon Iver album while staring out the window and the music resonated so unbelievable well, music and train journeys go so well together. I usually get the train to Dublin rather than drive because I hate driving long distances and driving around Dublin is usually a nightmare, plus I can have a bit of comfort as well.

Omg that sounds quite different actually and sort of confusing D: I guess it's not when you're used to it being like that, but to me it is :p:

Do you like work though now or anything?

s_k 05-25-2011 04:46 PM

Nope, I have autism and I live from disability benefits.
I do work a lot though, I just don't get paid for it. But I'm doing fine :D

Howard the Duck 05-25-2011 09:36 PM

being half-assed about the case tomorrow cos the client is also half-assed about it

Kaimon 05-25-2011 10:28 PM

I just did my first and very last gig with the Pursuits a.k.a the band I was talking about a few pages back, since two of them are seniors and graduating tomorrow. Really sad, but it was a lot of fun :).

I even wore a goddamn fedora.

Scarlett O'Hara 05-25-2011 10:36 PM

It finally stopped raining. YAY!

I want to see a pic of that.

I want to get a Fedora and a Kangol. I'm going to slowly build up a nice hat collection so when I'm rocking my suits I have something to go along with it.

Well the March in my city went well. They threw me on the leadership team. I don't even really consider myself a leader but more of an idea person that feeds them to leaders and they end up taking my ideas and getting all the credit for it which I'm fine with.

Anyways, I was at the forefront of the march and holding the banner while everyone else marched behind us chanting. A drunk guy decided to join the march but he wanted to stand in front of us and I totally understood why. How cool is it to be walking down the street with a group of people following behind you? He was drunk with that sort of power because you can tell by the way he was walking like he owned the street ROFL.

I had to talk to the city manager in front of the press and signal when we would start chanting and stop.

wow that seems like a pretty interesting day. I love marches. I miss my city for that :(

Today was all right. I slept in impossibly late, and spent a lot of time reading, then had delicious pasta with my mom. Then I kicked back and wrote a lot, also got some feedback on a poem/prose piece I wrote last night. The teachers are on strike which I support 100%, and we go back on Friday (then it's the weekend again!) It's 3:49 here and I'm not tired.. though I wish I were. I'm just building some writing pieces to chose from for a reading night we're having in June, then it's exams, grad, then my aunt's wedding, then moving and finally, figuring out university. I can't wait for the week after grad: 100% non-allocated, free time. Awww yeeeah.

MoonlitSunshine 05-26-2011 09:06 AM

DJ, I watched that video, and I was wondering: do you elect your mayor? Cause the guy at the head of that table didn't seem to care for ****, not to mention the fact that the council meeting seemed like something off jerry springer.

Yes we elect him but he has charisma and he was running on an different campaign position before getting elected and decided to be more conservative once he got in office. He has no respect for the residents of this city. He straight up doesn't care as long as people lobby him and give him money he will vote to help his "friends" even if it ends up hurting the residents.

The guy that was at the desk yelling is the mayor and the other four at the table were the council members. We call the three in the middle the three stooges because whatever Nick decides he gets the other two to vote and pass through things while the other two members usually vote against things.

Yeah it was interesting. I was even approached by one of the city council members and she wants to take me under her wing and train me to be a council member so in the next election I may run for that position. I would do it this year but I don't have time to really push my campaign.

When you said moving did you mean within your city or a different area all together?

that would be a pretty incredible opportunity. you should take her up on that! at least next cycle, anyways.

I'm planning to move back to Ontario :) this province is much too bunk for me. Already got my place set up for August 15, just gotta store some things until I can send for them to be shipped. Or I'll just give it all away, start new. Who knows. Future's pretty bright though.

I want free swag!

yeah I have time to plan out how I'm going to run my campaign and I will spend this time building my connections and getting to know the right people to help out in the future.

I got a haircut, and at first it was so bad that I wanted to cry, but when I got home I took a shower and messed around with it a bit and it looks positively amazing. For some odd reason hair stylists always straighten my hair and it looks soooooo bad straightened
