Twas a sad day. For my 50th birthday I had this guy: Ron Kirn Signature build me a custom telecaster from the ground up.
I chose the body blank and all of the specs. It turned out spectacular.

Because of our situation I'm having to sell off a ton of prized gear. Fortunately this one is going to a really good friend back east. He's already told me that if things turn around I can buy it back in a heartbeat.

Yeah, but that's not the attitude to go about it. If employers can just get away with treating employees like crap, there's no wonder people are so up their asses these days.

I don't disagree, but that's an awfully cynical way to look at it.

Eh, I don't agree that anything yet stated constitutes crappy treatment, so much as "aspects of a job that you don't like", and for any job you could do those things will be present.

I'm not saying neither of you is right to leave if you're truly unhappy, merely that there are ways to handle these sorts of situations professionally and that it's important to examine one's own behaviour critically.

God knows I recently left an employer for similar reasons so I'm not advocating the "suck it up" approach, but I definitely had to weigh the severity of my unhappiness against the responsibility I owed to my employer as part of our social contract and come up with an exit strategy that respected her needs as well as mine.
