that's nuts, i think you can get a rather nice 1 bedroom with great location at about 800-1k around here.

yes but those are some very luxurious apartments. and most likely in 'upper class' neighbourhoods. anyway, everything is **** and expensive here.

do you guys have a large class divide? like as in the rich being really rich and the poor being really poor? for some reason i could have sworn i've read that about most middle eastern countries.

So...out of complete irrelevant curiosity, I searched Beirut, and Google told me it's be 800$ for a Seattle to Beirut plane ride. That's extremely cheap.

meh, i guess. my family i would say is somewhere in between. my dad is well-off, honestly. but there are people here waaaay richer than him so there's that. there are also people who are very poor, i know my friend can barely afford to pay rent or afford clothes and her dad is always getting fired so the mom has to work her ass off for them to even be able to eat or have a place to sleep. and there are people here who are filthy rich also so... idk...

yeah, that is actually. probably cause no one wants to come here lol. although... we haven't had a bombing in quite some time... i think there was a bombing near the syrian border last week but compared to how it normally is, things are pretty calm.

I can't even imagine how weird it must be to be able to type that out, and have it be just a normal thing.

Then again...we get to say "Donald Trump is our president" so I guess I understand.

also i want to clarify that its not that i wouldn't buy a house in beirut because i don't like it, i love beirut its a beautiful city BUT its kind of unstable so the thought of having my house bombed and shattered completely sounds so depressing to me so why buy a house to begin with

same thing with having kids i never wanna have kids cause they'll die eventually so HWY have them in the first place
