Caught a sneaky cat chowing down on a swiss roll I bought. Accidentally left the bag with my goodies on the table. Now I'm worried about him getting sick and dying from the chocolate. I checked online about inducing vomiting with hydrogen peroxide. So I gave him a teaspoon of it but not vomiting so far. Directly after I gave him, I called my vet and they were like don't induce vomiting it isn't the same as dogs. I'm like oh **** to myself and hang up after she tells me to just monitor him. I only told her that he ate chocolate. Not that I tried to induce vomiting.

If it was only one teaspoon dose don't worry about it. The limit is 9 teaspoons total in a half hour. 1 tsp every 5 lbs, 3 teaspoons max every ten minute.

Yeah that's the link I read. He should be okay. I just hop he didn't consume too much chocolate. It was really just the ends of the swiss rolls and not the entire thing. Yeah, I only gave him a teaspoon worth.

Hope he's alright mate, I'm sure he will be.

Googling for advice and feeding your cat hydrogen peroxide before checking with a vet though :D

Funny.

djchameleon 02-14-2017 07:06 AM

Yeah, I was so stupid about that lol.

He looks like he's going to be fine though but I will keep a close eye on him throughout the day to make sure he's still good.

The place that I take my cats to is an animal hospital so I knew someone would be on call to take my question at 2am That's when I called.

Cuthbert 02-14-2017 07:31 AM

Yeah man keep an eye on him he should be ok.

Does your cat ever do lots of pathetic meows for no reason?

Fed, gone out, got water etc just randomly doing these very weak meows every thirty seconds or so. Maybe he has fleas I don't know. I don't know what he wants but he keeps meowing back to me.

If he was sick or hurt he'd probably not be meowing at all and just huddled somewhere out of the way. If he's got food and water then I don't know what to tell you.
