You don't know black people, do you? They don't listen to much else in my experience.

The best radio station is the lone, fuzzy, barely audible jazz/1940s big band station that can be found on the AM radio. Every single town and city has one. (Perhaps it's not merely a radio station-- maybe it's music from the beyond, like in that one Are You Afraid of the Dark? episode starring Gilbert Gottfried.)

Pretty sure you're thinking of NPR.

San Diego has a solid jazz station. They have the occasional daytime samba hour like any other jazz station but they go all over the place with their playlists. Late nights are almost always excellent too. https://www.jazz88.org/

They probably play it occasionally but I haven't heard much. It's mostly bebop.

Maybe. I could definitely see one becoming an NPR radio host if they were trapped in purgatory, for sure. (..In between attending dull engagement dinner parties/baby showers featuring "fun" board games which never actually begin or end because the rules are so needlessly complicated)

You're lucky! No jazz stations here. Late night jazz is needed. (Which is always the ideal musical backdrop for sleep-deprived disassociative episodes while driving)
