A couple weeks ago a woman hit me with her car while I was cycling to work. No injuries to me and only superficial damage to my bike. Despite that, the insurance company (which paid for all my unnecessary X-rays) called me today and said they'd be putting into my bank account enough money to buy me a new bike and helmet. Somewhere in the neighborhood of $800. Yay.

I don't need a new bike! I think I'll get the $50 in repairs that the bike shop has estimated and just pocket the rest.
