My style is objectivity + opinions injected with ironic, snide, and occasionally plain stupid humour.

And I was just noting your posting style as well. Even in your analogy with the "I have no experience" you attempt to make yourself the authority on my own damned subjective opinion.

But I guess since I've apparently never seen a baby or interacted with one and my parents don't want to see their son homeless (because that matters for some reason), I don't realize how much I love babies and should shut up and listen to Chula lol. Just respect my stance that I don't want kids or think they're all that interesting. I've been respectful of your stance on having kids.

This sounds, rather worryingly, like the voice of experience...

Oh I remember that one! I got into it with her and Ki. Didn't speak for months. Result!

As a matter of record, I personally don't like babies either. Thank god I never was one. I feel uncomfortable around them, not knowing what to do, what to say, and as the guys say, if they **** or piss or puke on you, you can't even punch their face in. No, keep your damn babies away from me. Women love that sort of thing. Men, in general, prefer AK47s and beer. So I'm told.

I will admit/accept that this is totally different a) if it's your baby or b) if you're just married.

Can't ignore mods or I would have blocked all of them so that I could follow my own rules.

Ah. I see. But I thought he said he used it and then said "Awesome, he's gone" or something? Were you just messing with him, going into Invisible Mode?

Rules? I thought you hated rules?

I feel like even if one does like babies, they shouldn't necessarily be expected to hold them, especially if they belong to someone you don't even know well. (I say this as someone who is totally comfortable with kids and babies in general and does not hate them) Just as most of us aren't expected to give hugs to people or touch people that we just met. If a person declines to hold a random baby I think it's somewhat ridiculous to hold a grudge against them for it. I mean, if I had a baby I definitely wouldn't expect someone with zero emotional connection to said baby to want to hold it; it would feel like a slight invasion of their personal space. It also kind of puts you on the spot..? It's very anxiety-inducing for those who aren't used to babies and children. Someone (that's not a close friend or family member) that's trying to hand you a baby surely knows full well that if you decline for any reason, you'll look like a rude baby-hater to everyone else in the room. Which makes me confused as to why they'd choose to have a stranger hold it rather than someone who they know will actually want to.
Who knew I had so many thoughts and feelings about compulsory baby-holding!

I would have told that person. "No thanks, you shouldn't trust me to hold your baby. What if I accidentally drop it?"

Maybe then it wouldn't have come off like you were calling the baby ugly or something and didn't want to hold it for that reason.
