Failed my road test today. It's incredibly frustrating - being a 36-year-old homeowner with a brand new car in my driveway and insurance that I'm paying for, but I still have to get up at five in the morning before the sun and take the bus to work and come home in the dark again every night.

I'd hoped to have my license before the snow but it looks like we're getting hit this weekend. My housemate hasn't been available for me to practice so I've only had 15 minutes behind the wheel in the last 10 years, which is probably why I scored a 20/100 on the road test.

The real challenge is finding an available test appointment during their busiest season that coincides with the limited availability of my housemate to accompany me to the road test. This ordeal could stretch out for months.

My next test is on Tuesday, this time in the heart of downtown. So I'll have to make up 55 points worth of competency in the next 6 days, on top of having to take the test downtown and (likely) in the snow.

I can't wait for this to be over with.

A neighbor 3 doors down found her a few days back and has been taking care of her. She was alerted to an online post about the missing cat and brought her back to me. She was about to take her to the pound she said. It looks like my cat only spent 1 night out in the cold. I put food, water and a bed outside to lure her home, but it only brought in a stray.
