I'm so excited thinking about all the things I want to buy that I'll have to force myself not to. Nah for real though I'm responsible with my money.

I never was. I ended up with large bills for five credit cards, plus eternally "topped-up" loans that in the end ran to something like 25K. I was so happy the day I paid off the last one. Never again. Not that anyone would give me a credit card or loan these days, but if I was offered I'd refuse. Not going through all that again!

You know the advice: only buy what you can afford to pay back next month? Yeah, totally ignored that and went on such a spending spree. God help me.

It’s real easy to do. In Florida the go to move is bankruptcy. They have to leave you with 4 grand worth of ****.

Anyway, it’s raining here which isn’t at all unusual but usually the rain is at least tepid but the rain today is thick and super cold (by our standards). When I took my dog out it felt like if you were soaked in it for a few hours you could get hypothermia. This city has a few churches that serve as emergency shelters when the temperature drops but I don’t think they’re open. I hope the homeless aren’t freezing out there. I didn’t see any when I was walking my dog. There’s an abandoned ship yard and I think three (two I know for sure) shantytowns in the woods with tents and tarps. I guess that’s where they’re at.

Soon it's 10K you owe and then with interest and all it just spirals from there. At one point I was paying almost a quarter of my monthly wage in loan payments (500 odd Euro out of about 2000). And the worst thing was, most of the time I didn't need the money for anything, but it was like someone saying "go on, you can have it. It will only cost you an extra fifty a month (and add five more years onto your repayment time"). Took me about 20 years to get finally cleared.
