I'm starting to like Spotify more. I like the playlists- both my own and the ones Spotify compiles for me.

Why do programmers constantly fix **** that isn’t broken?

Sooner or later they fix everything to death.

Spotify is CRAZY with this sh*t. It's insane how many things they get rid of for no f*cking reason whatsoever. I hate it. As soon as there is a viable alternative, because Apple Music isn't it, I'm gone.

On day 4 of school closings here in MN for the cold weather. Yesterday it was colder than the surface of Mars. We're finally getting back up to the negative single digits today, and back to teaching tomorrow. I expect kids to be bouncing off the ****ing walls.

I'm also 90% certain I just got my Nintendo Switch in the mail, and I really wish it had been there all week. I'm starting to lose my mind from a lack of **** to do.

I went to a farewell party tonight at a local pub, for one of my bosses who I actually care a lot about as a person. I rarely attend this type of gathering, because I tend to go straight home after work. I had four drinks – and I drink perhaps two drinks a year at most, so I am actually very drunk right now (for me). One of my bosses ordered a red wine for me when I arrived, then I had an Old Fashioned for the first time (which I didn’t really like – the bartender suggested it and mentioned it contained whisky), then two local lagers (I think the brand was called “Black Dog” or what have you). When I arrived home my daughter and son were both asleep. I am feeling strangely guilty right now. I work at a law firm, and watched a group of lawyers slowly becoming more lubricated and loosening up. It was simultaneously surreal and kind of touching to watch them become more human and vulnerable. Then I hugged my departing-boss goodbye and whispered that I was really proud of her for being such a kind person. Then we both burst into tears and gripped hands as I walked out.

Was worried all week about apartment inspections. They came by today and said that my unit was one of the cleanest they'd seen.

Because major corporations have broken approaches to management and handling of complex systems. Facebook has hundreds of developers, apparently breaking stuff more often than they fix it. Or more accurately; being inefficient. I can't count the number of times I've been scratching my head over small changes in the Youtube frontend and channel owner backend.

Very interesting talk about why software quality is generally poor:

I got like 12 hours of sleep last night for the first time in a loooong while. Feels good man.

How does one even sleep for 12 hours? I wake up after 6-7 hours most of the time, even if I try to sleep longer.

My retarded coworker keeps trying to trick me into spelling "attic" but I'm too smart for him.
