i tried to do this but your vehicle has to fit their standards

Yeah that too.

I heard a story about some Indian lady and her sister who just leased a car specially for Uber and took turns driving it in shifts

My mom tried working as a driver for Pizza Hut a while back and came to the conclusion that the wear and tear on the car outstripped any money she was making in the long run. Sounds like it would be true for Uber drivers as well if she was right.

Everyone I talk to who does it says the money is worth it. I'm thinking there's a difference between pizza delivery and Uber in terms of the money you make.

The Batlord 07-25-2019 02:55 PM

Or perhaps younger people just don't factor in car maintenance into expenses when doing driving jobs.

Or perhaps they do but the money is worth it. Neither of us knows first hand.

All I'm saying is pizza delivery seems like worse money. They get what... Around minimum wage plus tips? Plus Uber drivers work the hours they want and take the specific requests that they want. You don't have to pick up anyone you don't feel like picking up.

WWWP 07-25-2019 03:04 PM

Nah dude a lot of those 3rd delivery services rip you off big time as an employee. Like they deduct whatever tips you make out of your wages.

3rd delivery services?

One's a reliable job and one is on uneasy ground because of the obstacle that paying their employees provides?

One of my friends rents a car for Uber and times his work around when big events let out to take advantage of the surcharge. He says he wouldn't recommend it as anything but a sidegig though.
