Free jazz is great but you need to get into it little by little. This cut was my first taste of that stuff back when I was around 14. The way it starts off chill and gradually brings in dissonant elements is interesting.

@ jwb

I know what you mean.

Using more or less openness to chance is a technique used in free jazz (and other avant garde music) used mostly to navigate the important terrain of emotional ambiguity but Coltrane doesn’t do that. Even in his most chaotic material he’s still rearranging notes from a central theme or a scale or series of scales that relate to it. There’s always an organized pattern happening. That may be irrelevant if no one else can decipher it but over time the central themes can be identified by an astute listener no matter a far he went.

His music is by far the most rewarding listening investment ever offered.

Back in tomorrow

It’s basically like being crucified. I hate my financial / employment trap so deeply I’ve been thinking about killing myself. I was asking my buddy tonight after watching football if he’d want me to tell him first and he was like well I don’t really have a good answer for you.

It’s not just depression. It’s the thought of doing this type of labor with no retirement on the table. I’m giving it a hard think over if I can get out and if not is it really a life worth carrying on with.

It’s not imminent or anything but you know I’m not getting anywhere

Even that strikes me as unreasonably demanding on the part of your employer.

I spent every cent I ever made and every bit of credit given to me traveling and doing cool ****. Nothing can change the fact that I’ve lived an incredible life. I pretty much knew it would end up like this because I always just did whatever the **** I wanted but now that Father Time has caught up with me my memories aren’t enough. At this point reality has become really scary. And exhausting. And inescapable.

I spent like 2 days watching people on cam chat sites and I hate the majority of them.

Some of the most bourgeoisie mother ****ers out there. They're completely self absorbed, self righteous, narcissistic and delusional pieces of **** I've seen. It's the same ****ing people that have been doing this for years (judging by how they interact) that sit in front of a camera all ****ing day smoking pot. When they actually do speak it's some of the most absurd self justifying blathering I've ever seen about subjects they know nothing about and they know they know nothing about it yet still feel compelled enough to argue over their uneducated perspectives like their entire ego is on the line. They bicker and fight over the pettiest things that usually, for what ever goofy reason, devolves into who has the better beard until one gets kicked because the room owners want to barricade themselves in echo chambers.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Art Is Dead. Buy My ****.

That description doesn't seem too much different from some of the **** that goes on here, actually.

That sounds completely unrelatable.
