I mean he did say his friend was about to run from the cops. What reason is there to stick around unless you have a sociopath's need for stimulation?

Because by running away you make yourself a target even if you weren't dirty. If they chased elph and caught him he'd probably get charged. If they caught the friend with you in the passenger seat chances are you'd be let go.

He was already in the car. Maybe jump out put your hands up and stand perfectly still and say I didn’t want to get in an accident. I’d just stay in the car and keep my hands where they could be seen. And then just be like “I told him to stop.”

If you had drugs on you or were on probation or have a warrant I guess it would depend on what you’d be looking at.

Thing about jumping out and then cooperating is if your friend does get away you better be ready to either snitch or get charged. I would probably just ride it out and pray for a good story with no injuries to myself.
