have you ever done oil pulling? get some olive oil or coconut oil (coconut tastes better) and take about a tablespoonful. Swish it around like mouthwash for 10-15 minutes, and spit. try not to rinse with water right away, but do brush afterward, and don't eat or drink anything 30 minutes before or after. it works to "pull" bacteria out of your mouth and helps with inflammation and prevents infection.

I used to do this while showering, it def makes your mouth feel really nice and clean after you get in the routine, but it was hard to maintain.

I've had 2 teeth disintegrate on me over the years. The first one was fixed and capped by an Army dentist, then the one after that was pulled by a dentist in the county lock-up while I was there. I'd use hydrogen peroxide to keep them free from infection, but that only works to stave it off for a while and doesn't really help the problem. I was also getting migraines from the latter one, so pulling it made those go away too. Recently the one cap has fallen out after 30 years, so now I'm back to trying to keep it from getting infected.
