That's awful Plank, I hope that the insurance will come through and make getting back on your feet easier, even though of course it can't compensate you for the time and effort and some unreplaceable things you've lost.

That's a terrible piece of bad luck to come from one bl**dy faulty dishwasher connection, Plankton! I'm so sorry to hear what happened to your house. As everyone is agreeing, you had the interior looking so nice. That wasn't achieved without a lot of thought and effort, I'm sure.
I'm sorry you if you are going through a lot of aggravation and disorientation right now. Rebuilding from something like that will take a lot of patience, I'm afraid.
I recommend some disc golf to remind yourself that life's good things are more our friends and experiences than our possessions.

  • My Vox Tonelab survived after being under all of that same mess of water, drywall, and insulation. I thought that was a goner too.

Anything that was above chest height, even in the back bedrooms, was hit by the intense heat and either warped or melted, but most things that were near the floor and not in the area of the dishwasher weren't effected by the heat, so other than smoke damage, they're salvageable if I'm willing to put up with the smell for a while. This accounts for why my fish were ok and my electronic gadgets survived. My Uke and PRS were simply victims of fire fighting. They had to ventilate to keep the place from becoming an oven where everything above and below just cooks.
Yes, the best is to focus on the positive points; the fish and the computer stuff, which, for many of us, is where a large part of our lives is played out these days.

Thanks Lisna. Solid rec on the disc golf. I got out yesterday for a round with the local club to take my mind off of things, I also attended a wedding over the weekend for my daughters friend, where my daughter was the maid of honor. It was all very therapeutic.

Good your putting yourself about and seeing you be more positive..keep them vibes and build on them.
You know you can't change anything that happened, but you can make life easier for yourself by doing things that you enjoy. Hope you have a bunch of friends to lean on at times. Music has always been my saviour....big hugs my friend.

I have a great group of supportive friends and acquaintances that have all expressed their willingness to provide me with anything I'd need and I am in a good spot right now. I appreciate the hugs, Dianne. Thank you.

Just think of what a story this will make when they do you on Behind the Music. At least all the gold and platinum records you're going to win will still be behind you, as they couldn't have burned unless your house had a time machine in it.

It didn't have a time machine in it, did it?

Glad you're getting there, my friend. I bet Hanna looked gorgeous and you were in danger of bursting with pride!
