I really don't like the dishwasher and use it only semi-regularly. *First World problems* If I'm pre-scrubbing anyway, what's the point? Just a little more hand-scrubbin' effort and the dishes are all done.

When I do use the dishwasher, I add Jet-Dry rinse agent - which makes glassware, plates and pots extra-extra clean (calling Dr. Freud ).

This. Waste of money and time imo. We just wash stuff in the sink as we use it.

You unhygienically wash your dishes in tap water and
when you do wash them in a dishwasher it has mold in
the flatware holder, then you remove them with your
fingers all over their bowls and tines?
Damn, glad I don't eat at your place(s).

I don't get the "waste of time" part.
So, you'd rather spend time and effort cleaning dishes
instead of, like, watching a movie, while something else
hygienically cleans your dishes? Yes, you have to remove them
when they're done, but you have to put up dishes anyway.

And there I was thinking Steph was using another euphemism or urban slang, her comment coming as it did directly after Batty's "how many times a day do you poop" one! You wouldn't believe the images that went through my mind as I wondered what "handle down" meant to the kids today, and then people talking about putting stuff in their mouths - well - my head nearly exploded! Anyway, now that that's cleared up...

I AM our dishwasher. Never had a machine, don't want one. I find it quite therapeutic really to wash dishes, and it's good to have music going while I do so. we never had a dishwasher in any house I ever lived in. Rich bastards.

We've been only two people at home now for over 10 years.
Before doing any cooking/eating we fill a fresh tub of hot soapy water and then just clean as we go.

2. just let it drop (still with handle down)
