Well so long as you have a steady income and a plan then you're potentially good to go. Too many of my peers quit their job out of outrage without anything to fall back on. As if quitting their job on principle is an intelligent choice when they haven't got anything else as a backup.

Nah, I woke up one morning and realized how much my life sucked and I made changes to not make it suck anymore.

I have the convenience of having near 2 grand saved up and living at home so that's no issue. I'm pretty much able to get whatever job I need with the experience I got at that job so finding work won't be a problem. I'm just taking time to figure my life out and so far, it's going well.

Best of luck in the future man. I think it's way more important to be doing something you love than to stick with a shitty job just because you're scared to leave. Hope it all works out for the best.

Yeah. I hear ya. I was scared for a while but then I finally took the plunge and I havent looked back. I feel like things are falling back into place. I'm waking up happy again instead of a depressed mess that I've been in for the last couple years.

Is that why you're single?

Partly yes. I don't want to bring personal issues into the forum, but that was one change I had to make to better myself. I've remained civil with the other parties involved, but I won't say more than that.

That is wise. Don't derp into your 30s. I know many men who have, and it ruins them. Not saying I know you or what's good for you, but if you've got that drive to soldier forward, then don't lose that feeling.

Aw, LiL was more fun than you. But she's crazy.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 06-16-2016 08:23 PM

Just came home after an eight hour shift, opened up the fridge, and behold, on the top shelf, leftover KFC. Today is a good day.

I always found that there should be a line not to cross when discussing such matters in a public place. It just creates unnecessary drama.

I know how you feel. There is currently cheesecake in the fridge that I am plotting on.

The excitement when you first notice the food is more enjoyable than actually eating it, I think. Although eating it is pretty awesome too.

I'd agree, but cheesecake.

So how'd you do it? Jerry Maguire style? Or like the one dude at the end of Waiting (ya know, the dude whose eyeballs got plucked out in that other movie?)

Called in on tuesday, went to the doctor, got the rest of the week off. Sent them the doctors note as well as my 2 week notice and told them I won't be back.

This reminds of the montage scene in practically every movie ever made, in which the hero/heroine starts making empowering life-altering choices to the background tune of some ****ty Kelly Clarkson-esque song.

That's exactly how I want my life to look like.

Me either. I just checked them out though.

Fuckin Blink 182 ruined music for all the new humans. When did whining become the new form of singing? Blink 182, that's when. Shoulda been Blink One Eighty Our Music Is Just a Bunch of Whiny Shit.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 06-17-2016 10:19 AM

Blink-182 > PTV

Neither are great, but if I have to pick between a punch in the balls and a punch in the gut, I'll usually take the gut.

Frownland 06-17-2016 10:23 AM

I guess we hear about them a lot more in San Diego since they're from here and people are all about other people from the same zip code for some reason.

JGuy Grungeman 06-17-2016 10:34 AM

Well, I introduced this site to one of the worst games ever, and am awaiting a ****storm because I made a supposedly racist comment, and a man taught me an Arabic word for harlot. And the day just started. I'd say today's more eventful than usual.

Same. Apparently they're some pop punk/post-hardcore band or something, according to rym.

TBH that actually sounds more underground, than what 90% of people on earth listen to.

Frownland 06-17-2016 10:52 AM

They're metalcore for twelve year old girls.

Tbh the band looks like a bunch of twelve year old girls themselves. And I agree that I haven't heard of them either (at least not to my recollection-- likely 'cause they're not worth remembering). However, with 69 million hits on one of their vevos, they are hardly "underground."

That's why the new girl at work is an idiot.

innerspaceboy 06-18-2016 05:47 PM

Today I was introduced to a gent from a Victorian Dance Society who was waltzing in full period attire with several beautiful couples. He gave me a dancing lesson and when I asked about local James Joyce societies he hipped me to our city's Irish Classical Theatre's annual event - A Wake to Die For!

BEST OF ALL - I visited his Dance Society's official website... and they had an official handbook available for download. It was published in 1893 by Richard A. Wells. It is the EXACT BOOK on display in my home!

I only had a 30 minute lunch break today at work so I hurried home and ate a piece of pizza on the toilet. That's how you maximize your time, folks.

You make Auntie so proud. No, seriously.

It's fathers day. It's gonna hit triple digits. I'm stocked up on alcohol and food. Mike's out of town. Linda has to work. I have plenty of ice.
