I absolutely hate people that don't have the allergy, and then strut around like they're hot shit because they're buying "healthy" alternatives. Are you kidding me, people? REALLY? Yes, of course, because I just KNOW you'd like to have a tiny loaf of bread that you spent $4 on, and it tastes just a step above cardboard. YEP. Living the good life!

I modified my diet because I had to, or else I would have eventually died. I literally would have starved to death because I couldn't retain anything I was eating. My sensitivity threshold is so high that even if Ki put a knife in the butter that he used on his bread, even without me knowing, just the mere contact will result in a severe headache, can't leave the bathroom for a long time, sometimes I've even thrown up because it's such a shock to my system.

If I even handle foods that aren't safe, I have to wash my hands many times. I know my entire kitchen if probably covered in junk so I have to be really careful. My hands (while already dry from work) are unusually dry during the winter because of how often I'm washing them. This is serious. I don't think my life is harder than everyone else's, just sort of a pain in the ass sometimes.

So I do give the side glance to people who willingly go gluten free because they think it'll help them lose weight or make them healthier or whatever. People are so stupid.

Well it's good that you're not being tricked into a health fad. It sort of reminds me of certain family members who are 'lactose intolerant' who love my mashed potatoes until the next day when I tell them I make it with cream cheese, sour cream, and milk among other things, they act like they feel sick AT THAT MOMENT when they were all happy and jolly before. Dumbassery, the lot of it.

I have witnessed that as well. Though, in some cases, being told something can trigger a sort of sickness, but to the extent of what being lactose intolerant can actually do, I don't think it'd get that bad. I know that if i'm told there was something in the food i'm eating that i'm not particularly fond of, i'll think about it for a second, feel a bit sick, and get over it. I wouldn't be running to the bathroom with the hershey squirts.

I'm slightly lactose intolerant but thankfully not to the degree that it messes me up really bad or anything. Bloating, I can deal with.

Anyway, a couple highlights of my day:

- deterred a shoplifter/tag switcher before she even had a chance to get into the fitting rooms.

- had this surreal moment when I saw this 15 yr old kid who was buying two records I had in my collection when I was first starting out (about 10 years ago when I was his age). Congratulated him on his cool finds. Briefly mourned the loss of my youth.

A water pipe burst last night. Ceiling came crashing down, water all over the place, couches ruined. Good thing it wasn't over my guitars, or recording PC. Time to rebuild. ugh.
