Money has nothing to do with whether or not someone is depressed and feels suicidal. None of us really have any qualifications to decide whether or not someone should feel suicidal. Surprised this keeps ending up being such a heated topic.

I say what I mean with blunt force clarity. You, on the other hand, instead of articulating your own clear thoughts, you follow my words around looking for scraps to feed on like a dick riding vulture.

I don't see what's unclear about my criticisms of your jaded and pathetic opinions.

Cheers.

Pro-sports are sad pyrrhic victories as well, actually.
I'm kind of picky about the use of words, so like Janszoon, I was surprised at your use of pyrrhic.

^ Quite understandable if your first definition wasn't too precise: it's not always easy to come up with a good definition off the top of your head. The second one you posted was a big improvement.

Plenty of things are not worth the effort, but only winning at a huge cost is a pyrrhic victory. If you climb Everest and lose limbs because of frostbite, that's pyrrhic, but I don't imagine that many pro-sports victories are really pyrrhic. In most of them I imagine you come off unscathed and have a trophy to put on your mantlepiece. Even if the trophy wasn't worth the effort, it doesn't make it a pyrrhic victory imo - a better term for that circumstance might be "waste of time".

Just put OH on ignore. Problem solved.

Anyway, I just woke up and found that a windstorm caused a power outage. Luckily it doesn't seem like it'll be out for more than an hour. I'm cranky without the ability to have my coffee.

My evidence that it’s not a melodramatic stretch is that junkiedom is devastating rich communities. You rieach the culmination of capitalistic achievement to discover heroin has more to offer. Or a ****ing noose. So yeah, even fully realized, the American Dream is **** and striving to achieve it is a pathetic waste of time. The poor hate being poor and that’s no surprise. But after a while the rich hate being rich. And poverty and wealth are both symptoms of capitalism and capitalism is a man made construct we don’t even have to accept.

There's a hell of a large space between rich and poor. I'm not rich nor poor but I've lived the American Dream. Worked my ass of my entire life to advance my career and income. Owned a home. Raised two great kids. Spent nearly 40 years with the same woman and we're remaining good friends. Right now I'm sitting in a paid for brand new RV in a beautiful area of San Diego country. I only have to work part time - from home. And I hope to retire in 4 years.

I'm far from rich but I can get by on very little money cause everything's paid off and I'm down to only a few bills a month.

Not a waste of time from where I sit. Are you this cynical and miserable to be around in real life too?

Dont ever stop checking on your friends. Here's to Milo
So sorry Steph.
