If I talk to someone I don't know so well, I'll maybe try to be extra diplomatic. That's where I realize you're right. I definitely would seem to agree when I'm really just not bothering to pick a fight. When people spew racist bull****, for example, I'm usually just going "hmm... uh huh", then changing the subject. I feel like it's kinda spineless of me, honestly.
