WTF Happened with Batlord?

Permaban? Why?

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 01-17-2017 04:50 PM

the beef with plankton just kept escalating. i don't think anyone except for the mods know exactly what it was he said that called for the ban, but he's gone for good now whether we like it or not.

ChelseaDagger 01-17-2017 04:54 PM

With Batty gone and the temptation to troll him gone with it, I might succeed in my New Year's resolution to whittle MB out of my life once and for all.

A bright side that most of us can appreciate, no doubt :)

Thelonious Monkey 01-17-2017 04:59 PM

lol didn't see this one coming

OccultHawk 01-17-2017 05:01 PM

I hope I don't get banned for that rap battle ****. I'm just joking around.

He's a good writer, funny, and can turn you on to good music. It's a loss.

djchameleon 01-17-2017 05:08 PM

Replaceable.

Funny part is questionable too.

I planned on leaving Jan. 1 cold turkey, but decided to wait till the 20th after my Bowie tribute concert, but my sitter bailed on me and so now I'm kind of in limbo as to when to cut the MB cord. It's a working plan, but so far involves weaning myself off until planting season.

Thelonious Monkey 01-17-2017 05:13 PM

My happiest days usually don't involve MB at all. I only hope I become happier.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 01-17-2017 05:18 PM

Psy-Fi 01-17-2017 06:00 PM

Perhaps he had the foresight to set up a sock puppet account (or 2, or?) in anticipation of this tragic turn of events.

Keep "striving for glory" Batty... (wherever and/or whoever you may be).

with all the piss takes on this thread anybody could be subject to a ban

Not Kiiiiiiiiiiii!

Also, if Plankton doesn't hate you, you're safe.

Yeah, why couldn't it have been Ki instead?

Also, who the **** is Ki?

ChelseaDagger 01-17-2017 06:36 PM

I savor my breaks from the Bat as much as anyone, but I must admit disappointment at the perma-ban. He was fun to banter with and didn't take himself or anyone else too seriously, and there's something to be said of that.

Actually, Bat has gotten away with breaking the rules more than any of us have combined. With the constant name calling, the on and on and on extreme trolling against members and making fun of things that shouldn't be made fun of. Most of us get one or two warnings tops (I know I have), whereas Bat has gotten in the double digits in terms of warnings. Has nothing to do with Plankton, though I'm sure Plankton was happy to pull the plug.

This is a good point, although I think if they were to ban him for such behavior, it should have happened a long time ago. Otherwise, it just appears kind of petty and arbitrary.

DwnWthVwls 01-17-2017 06:47 PM

So who has the most forum posts now?

Jesus christ, you've been around since 2015? Why do you seem like such a newbie.

Well, that's sort of the unfortunate circumstance of being a "prominent" member of a forum with as many posts as he has while simultaneously being on your last warning. You can't ban him because of his activity, but then his behavior becomes a recurring factor. Which is why Plank was right to do what he did. He had to stop the behavior from starting because let's be honest, Bat is where it started.

DwnWthVwls 01-17-2017 07:08 PM

I blame you for Batlord's actions.

He really did despise me. I blame myself for this result. I'm sorry everyone.

I have a migraine right now so I'm sure this post probably makes more sense than it does in my head.

Also, I'm ignoring DWV because I have no clue as to whom he's speaking.

Just too many words, period. I lost interest after the first five or so.

I've been here for a few years and lost a few friends. Some of them are the same people everyone misses, others are members people rarely speak of, and are most likely forgotten. I don't revel in anyone getting banned. It shrinks the number who frequent Music Banter, even if it's by one. I am not saying MB shouldn't have rules etc. etc. I just kinda wish the people who got banned had boundaries, knew when to goof around, and knew when to stop. So they can always be part of the banter.

OccultHawk 01-17-2017 08:03 PM

Was there a certain post that did him in?

djchameleon 01-17-2017 08:11 PM

Whatever it was. The evidence is long gone.

OccultHawk 01-17-2017 08:15 PM

Well he turned me on to Exhorder. I don't know what more you can ask of a man.

Trollheart 01-17-2017 08:24 PM

You're a bastard. Batty may have had his faults, but he was one of the most interesting people here, one who kept the banter (remember that?) going. I will certainly miss him, even though he slagged the **** out of me. I honestly think maybe a long ban - a month or so - might have been appropriate, but a permanent one, especially given the questionable motives behind it, is I think a step too far, and another step along a dark road that leads us all towards the final exit sign.

I certainly will feel like I enjoy, and will probably want to frequent here, less in his absence than I did.

tl;dr: **** off, I liked the guy. Up yours.

ftfy, we don't need you band for calling DJ names. just repeat "Serenity Now" or "Clear Blue Oceans" over and over.

Chula Vista 01-17-2017 08:34 PM

In all seriousness, is it permanent?
