OK, I admit I didn't read all the posts, so if I unintentionally offended anyone or made light of their situation, esp mental, I do apologise. But as I said, the way it was put originally was a "can't be arsed" not "couldn't face it". Maybe it was how I read it. Accept my apologies if so. No offence intended.

Quick PSA for those of you in the US who don't have insurance and take meds: GoodRx is an app that you need to have on your phone. It gives you substantial discounts for pretty much everything (you just look it up and the pharmacist scans the code on your phone) and it shows you which pharmacies have the cheapest prices as well.

It's unfortunate you live where you do, Bat; I don't imagine there's many job options (that would be better suited for you) where you are. If you lived in Baton Rouge or some other city with an EA QA testing center, you could do that. I worked at the one in Baton Rouge and the work environment was very non-stressful, and there was little social interaction required. And they hired basically anyone. But I'm assuming you're basically stuck in the city you're in now since you implied that in the other thread.
If I ever become rich, I'll create my own little isolated village filled with comfortable, soundproof tree houses, and cute animals (oh and limitless wine and beer) everywhere that all of the depressed people of the land can retreat to when need be.

Oh and thank you Trollheart, you're too kind <3

I think you should just get some certifications without worrying if you'll be competent or not. Teaching, nursing, operating MRI or other medical machines, occupational therapy, culinary whatever, CDL, ESL, paramedic, or skill labor like computer programming, graphic design, proof reading, editing, cyber security, freelance writing-

I mean, writing and amusing people as well as do on here doesn't come without any other skill sets.

I've been diagnosed major depressive disorder, ADHD, sleep disorder (insomnia- believe me it's horrible) and anxiety disorder. Not surprisingly, I also have drug and alcohol problems that aren't as fun as I like to make it out to be.

Also TH I know there's nothing mean-spirited about you so you know it's cool. Sometimes people need pills and a kick in the ass, it's true.

I second this. (Well, except for the freelance writing thing; that seems better to do as a side thing on sites like Upwork and such.) Or something which would enable you to work in a very calm environment without much chaos. I think there are some careers in the medical field that are like that, but many likely require having a four-year degree to start out with. (Being an x-ray technician or something seems like it'd be nice for a chronically anxious person) Aside from maybe phlebotomy I suppose. But everyone already knows this I'm sure. Depressed and anxious people who have less than ideal job situations have already researched these things pretty thoroughly, I would assume. I for one am excellent at spending hours and hours at a time tirelessly researching things and making plans with bullet points and all, and then.. forgetting to do all the things.

(I need to do the same since, although I do have plenty of caretaking experience and tend to end up with those sort of jobs, I'm not really officially certified in anything. I, too struggle with a horrendous memory which I think would make certain career paths less than ideal for Bat and whoever else has similar issues. I like the idea of being a hospice CNA but I would probably end up accidentally killing someone or mixing up their meds)

More like very hard to put. But I'm anxious about pretty much everything all the time.

I definitely have a seriously ****ed up short term memory, and there's a history in my family that says it's just gonna get worse. I have to remember things off a screen where I work and I forget half of everything as soon as I look away from the screen at times.
