To work or not to work? My ten cents:-
Some jobs are soul-destroying and leave so little time for job searching that you almost need to quit the job you have so you can start looking for something better. The problem is that if you then don't find anything, you can be truly screwed. I once experienced a period of unemployment and was shocked at how fast my money and my sense of professional worth evapourated. I also learned that, at interview, you are so much stronger going from one job to another. If you're unemployed, they know you are basically begging before you walk in the door. (Perhaps Trollheart will remember Yosser Hughes at his heart-wrenching, "Gi' s a job" interview.)
On balance, I think my advice to Occult H would be to stick at it but try really hard to find something better...Sorry that you're in such an unpleasant situation.  |
