Yesterday was pretty much the immediate shock of it all. Today sucked. My skull hurts like hell, I'm dizzy, nausious, unsteady, massive headache all day, and this morning it took me about 2 hours to do some work that normally I'd get done in 30 minutes.

Not my first, but a concussion in your 20s is not the same as one in your latter 50s.
Didn't know you had any fans! Hope she was pretty.

Seriously, take the advice Chula. I had a concussion once in my life - got my head kicked in in probably my only fight - and ended up in hospital. They insisted on keeping me and my mate in overnight, telling us that once you had passed out they would not take any chances. These things can hit you back when you least expect it so yeah, see the doc. Now.

I've had two from fights I lost. If it's bad enough your brain can swell.

Never had a concussion myself (knock on wood) but one of my friends has had three. He's been told that if he suffers one more, he'll likely have permanent brain damage.

Best wishes for recovery, Chula.

I fainted during Pink Lady Lemonade (I think it was because I was standing for too long with my legs locked) and probably gave myself a concussion. Everything became stars and I fell forward into some people who pushed me back, at which point I stiffened up like a plank, fell backwards, and hit my head. My friend said that I was lying there seizing a bit, so him and a few other people pulled me out and put me on a bench. I chose to walk it off after 10 minutes of resting and drinking water. We got lost on the way to the car, had to wait for an hour and a half for my ride's AAA service to come (locked the keys in the trunk and was to close to showtime to take care of it then) before a 2 hour ride home. I was pretty confused that whole night and the next day I felt incredibly weak. My friend decided to stay at my college with me for a few days longer than he had planned to make sure that I was alright. Felt back to normal after three days but still should've seen a doctor. I've been a dick ever since.

Like what you said in the OP though, a concussion at 50 is far different from one at 19. See a doctor for sure.

After the initial impact occurs, the brain undergoes a delayed trauma – it swells – pushing itself against the skull and reducing the flow of oxygen-rich blood. This is called secondary injury, which is often more damaging than the primary injury.
That's why you should go have it looked at. I recommend going to the ER. If your brain starts to swell they can address that in a hospital. They can prevent permanent damage.

I saw that happen to a few people in the Army while standing at attention for long periods. You have to keep your knees bent a little or you cut off circulation.

Rub some dirt on it.

Unless she bites down. Then it's hilarious.
