The Hot Sauce Thread

Can't believe there isn't already one but you people suck so it's understandable. Post your hot sauce love, talk about your best/worst/both experiences, tell us what you're currently using or would like to use, give us your favs, etc. And along with brand it would be nice if you could post a pic of the bottle (either your pic or from the net) cause hot sauce bottles are nearly as important as what's inside.

Finally ran out of my glorious bottle of Marie Sharp's Comatose Heat Level Habanero Hot Sauce and promptly replaced it. I definitely think I'm a fan of the chunkier stuff: they seem to have more taste, more texture, more heat, and if it doesn't have seeds then it's probs bitch ****.

Also picked up a bottle of Gringo Bandito cause it's habanero (my new god) and has a great bottle. The racism also helps. Too bad it's thin and watery, isn't that hot, and has mediocre taste. I love hot sauce on my microwaved burritos but anything that thin doesn't want to stay on, so I'll probably use it for rice. But even weak hot sauce is still way better than no hot sauce. I'll keep the bottle when it's empty though. Maybe start a collection. It's better than stamps anyway.

Holy ****, tabasco is barely better than Texas Pete. I feel sorry for you.

Neapolitan 10-08-2017 06:52 PM

Texas Pete taste too salty. I like Louisiana "Crystal" Hot Sauce. I went through a phase that I put it on everything.

I'm gonna have to hit this site up as it looks boss as ****. 400 hundred kinds of hot sauce and they deliver it to your door? **** yes. I'm gonna look up what's good to buy, but honestly I'll probably start with whatever has the coolest bottles.

Once you've had the better **** Texas Pete just tastes kind of gross. Like flavored vinegar. Honestly it can **** your mouth up worse than some hotter sauces though, since you have to use so much to get any heat that it just sticks to your mouth and gives you heartburn. Of course it's been awhile since I stooped so low so it might not even do anything to me anymore. Avoid unless there's no other choice.

I'll have to check it out. I'm looking to go nuts with trying everything.

I don't find Texas Pete salty but a bit too sweet.

I'm not trying to burn my tongue out. I like flavor with some kick for hot sauce or else it overpowers what you're eating if it's too hot.

That's pretty much the problem with the sauce that I posted, it's so hot that you really don't enjoy it, and it's more of an endurance test than an addition to your food.

I was talking about taste. I likes me some hot **** but I don't need it to give me chemical burns.

Well then try Cholula because it tastes bomb and has a kick.

Most definitely will do.

I had a bottle of this but I couldn't put it on anything directly. It was way too much for me. I had to use it only while cooking. I would mix it into chili and what not. It was definitely better for cooking than just adding on top of stuff afterwards.

Stephen 10-08-2017 09:45 PM

My main sauce at the moment is Nando's Extra Bloody Hot which is a decent sauce. I have a Tobasco Chipotle for when I feel like wimping out which is more smoky than spicy. I also have a Tobasco Habanero which isn't bad as a basic splash sauce.

OccultHawk 10-08-2017 10:47 PM

I basically use this like hot sauce. Whatever brand. The red oil stuff. I put it on whatever. Eggs, potatos, pasta - sometimes I mix it with blue cheese.

Regular hot sauce I don't buy nearly as often but I usually get green Tabasco. I also use dry red and old fashioned black pepper. Exciting. I don't buy hot sauce for the cute labels.

OccultHawk 10-08-2017 10:48 PM

Also when I go to Taco Bell I ask for a bunch of different sauces and just use their packages. It's good.

Seriously good, and damn hot.

Ok. Ready to play with the big boys? Great flavor, INTENSE HEAT. Hell in a bottle but tasty.

In my fridge I have extra hot Valentina's, Private Select peri peri pepper sauce, Tabasco, and Bibigo gochujang hot sauce. I use the peri peri sauce the most, it's busted.

Chula Vista 10-09-2017 11:27 AM

Mad Anthony's makes a killer hot mustard too.

Try the Belizean Heat if you an find it. I didn't think it was that hot but it is lovely. Not had the one you posted.

Homemade Tums sounds like more trouble than it's worth.

Cholula and Tabasco, along with salt and pepper, are served as basic condiments here in SoCal.

Yac 10-10-2017 07:20 AM

I don't know sh*t about hot sauces, but several of my friends are really into them, they make their own and test what they can get. And all of them recommend this one:
https://heatonist.com/hot-ones-hot-sauce/
If it's half as good as the youtube show the producers of this sauce have, where they interview various celebrities over hot wings with sauces that go up to 2 mil scoville, and that's supposedly a lot. (check it out:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TN09IP5JuI)

Mindfulness 10-13-2017 02:15 PM

i agree that cholula is the best hot sause.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 10-19-2017 12:45 PM

ever put too much hot sauce on your sandwich but scoff it down anyway bc you don't want to look like a bitch? may or may not be me atm.

Cuthbert 10-19-2017 02:35 PM

No, I don't think I ever put hot sauce in sandwiches.

The sandwich I have most often is grilled cheese and I put some cayenne chilli powder in it though.

About 50% of the time but nothing else matters when you hit that perfect ratio.

I always put slightly too much on the first burrito, hold back a little too much on the second, but then say **** it and go man-mode on the last one cause yolo. BTW how can you eat less than three burritos?

Fun fact: only a small portion of burritos come frozen.

I can barely even finish one legit burrito.
