Why don't you just do construction? It's the same thing but probably with less hoops and exactly the same thing. Or at least maybe you should do something that will trick you into doing something that will allow you to trick yourself that you're doing something for the people for as long as possible.

Something tells me your publics works aren't going to amount to much different. You'll work with the same people, bust your ass for little to no real reward, and accomplish nothing, but there'll be something nice to put your hat on afterward. No matter what you'll probably still just amount to doing something that put food on poor people's tables the same as what I do. But hey, some guys' name will be on it to give the illusion that you've done something useful. Please do something more than public works with your degree. Working with poor people does not amount to helping them. If it did then I'd be a saint as would all my coworkers.

Bro that's seriously what your proletariat brothers and sisters want. Not a lack of money at the end of your pay period. If you got that then you're living our dream. Your public works mean nothing to us and never will. And yeah, I guess I am throwing my indifferent lot in with them cause whatever the **** you're trying to do will mean as little to me unless it makes some kind of financial difference in our lives. Otherwise you might as well put that work to going to Mars cause that's ****'s way more cool. Just please stop being white at us.
