Ben Shapiro uses this argument and I think I kind of agree. Privileged people leave behind families that will probably be okay financially after they're gone versus the poor needing to work together to barely stay above water. I imagine it's not even a consideration for most in the severely underdeveloped countries where you are the person hunting for survival or walking 5 miles daily for drinking water. I haven't seen any studies surrounding it but it seems reasonable.

Edit: to clarify i dont agree with how he uses it, just the idea in general.

I posted a link on the previous page that shows that suicide is more of an issue in poor and underdeveloped countries.
Although the correlations are complex and you can't generally say that the poorer a country the higher the suicide rate.
Still a dumb and easily debunked assertion.
