Not sure if elph understands what a dad joke is, but my UO is that I'd appreciate Carlin's influence if it only reached people who are capable of social criticism and humour at the same time, but alas it's reached a wide dearth of people who think that self-congratulatory rants from within their own ******* and reactionary attempts at edginess are a service to social criticism in comedy.

There are three types of Carlin fans: Like you said those that enjoy swearing George, or social commentary Carlin. The third were those who enjoyed George Calrin's ironic twists. He didn't swear through the whole 7 dirty words but had some wholesome exceptions for example: "Dick Van Dyke" or that line from the Walt Disney movie "Snatch that pussy and put it in a box."
