Nice to see everyone's name on it. This thread was set up (obviously) with that basic idea in mind, so for me, yeah, if anyone wants to write a message and then PM it to Ki and he can write and send the card.

I'd also like to say this is a very kind, thoughtful and generous idea of Ki's. I give him ****, like we all do, but he has to be praised for this idea. Also considering he's only recently returned and probably doesn't know Chio online as well as some of us do, that's doubly impressive. Well done, Ki, and if people decide one card, many messages I'll send you mine. If not, I'll send you a separate message you can put in a single card. If you need money sent on let me know.
Chio and I have actually gotten really close in the last year, even before either of our hiatus's. So this is more of an extension of that and I wanted to allow people to use that as a positive resource. Money is not an issue. I've saved enough in the past couple years that I don't ever worry. So, no worries on that.

Maybe Troll can write up something like, 'we're thinking of you', and we can all virtually sign off on it. Heck, just seeing this thread ought to cheer her up knowing we were thinking of her. (Which we are, Chiomara )
As of this morning, she's been doing the best she can. Says she's feeling restless etc which is natural in this type of scenario. She has said she's love for you guys to be updated, so I'm doing the best I can in that regard as I've known her long enough to where I feel it's ok to do so. And she said I could so...yeah.

She also says she'll probably be back here sooner rather than later as she would prefer to have something to keep her mind off of things. So, when she does come back, I would hope you guys would just comfort her as much as possible. She certainly needs it right now and any bit of that would count. Which is again, another reason for me to want to send her some letters.

I'm so sorry to hear this news, Chiomara. My thoughts are with you and your family.

I'm happy to join in whatever group thing we're doing.

^I'll be happy to include you in it as well, Janz. But yeah, just pm what you guys would want me to say and I'll send them off once that's done. There's no time limit. Take as long as you need to. The offer will stay on the table.

You should send her one big one that we all sign so you don't have to pay a load of cash in postage.

It's a pretty generous offer to use your own time to help everyone get their messages across as it is.

Thanks everyone; you're all very sweet. I really do appreciate the gesture, TH <3 (though I really don't think I'm worth all of this fuss because I'm surely not the only one who has endured a great loss recently) hopefully it's not too gauche to post in my own card thingie. I really was planning on taking a break from all my usual internet haunts, but I'm plagued with the most terrible boredom and restlessness-- my family is very weird and private, they all prefer to mourn alone, so I've been cooped up here in my motel with just my laptop and some books/comics while I wait for the memorial service. Lots of time to kill. I was a total wreck a few days ago but I am functioning okay now (in part thanks to my excellent emotional compartmentalization+suppression abilities). Those few days in the hospital felt like an eternity. Anyway, I'm pretty much done publicly talking about death and my brother and whatnot for the time being and I'm well enough to waste time on the internet (I break down in the shower and at the grocery store like a normal person) so no one needs to worry too much. I mean, I am still a wreck, I lost a huge part of my life and it hasn't really sunken in yet-- but wallowing never helps me, and I can't put my life on hold right now if I'm going to move to North Carolina by this fall like I've been wanting. I need some illusion of normalcy.

Thanks again everyone for all the kind words, especially Kii with his nice card/letter idea. Everyone knows I'm a slut for snail mail. I don't want anyone to feel obligated to do anything like that though (after all, I mean, I haven't directly interacted with most of you since I mostly just make useless posts in the Lounge and plug) especially since I'm back here posting now.

Perhaps you don't realise how much you mean to everyone here. I've been here for over seven years now and even though everyone knows me, should something horrible happen to me (fingers doubly crossed that it doesn't) I'm not quite sure I'd elicit the outpouring of support and genuine emotion you have engendered here. You're totally special.

Thanks Chio. I've been through two deaths last year - one, my aunt who was like a second mother to me, the other one of my three cats. Not sure which hurt more. But I doubt my grief could come close to matching yours. Nevertheless, if thinking of me helped you in any way, then I'm glad.

Great to have you back. I'm sure I speak for everyone here.

Miracleman, binch (I can finally actually read it now; after I first got it a while back my nephew immediately stole it from me)

And also everything on this flash drive my friend just gave me:

and also The Fadeout, The Fix, The Wicked + The Divine, and Throwaways.

which ones should I read first?

Guess I'll have to square up then! I have no upper body strength whatsoever but I DO have long nails.

(thank you though, I'll try to take your word for it )

Losing a kitty is terrible. Well, and aunts too of course :c But it's impossible to compare these things since each death is like an entirely different and unique beast in terms of how severely (or quickly or slowly) it rips into us. I definitely thought I'd be over the death of my cats, for instance, but nope!
