How old are you? Do you have any underlying health issues?

Cuthbert 03-17-2020 12:27 AM

I feel fine, but I suspect its only a matter of time at this point. We've had numerous deaths in the West Midlands and there's no way the official figures are accurate. People are not being tested so the official number of 1,400ish has got to be the tip of the iceberg.

They reckon it could go on until Spring 2021 with 8m Brits needing hospital treatment

I feel pretty much normal. Who knows? Maybe I had it and it stayed mild and I built a resistance. I am snotty like allergies though.

I’m 25 and have no other problems, though I’ve smoked weed pretty much daily for like 6 years

I guess my biggest fear is the long term problems that scientists are finding. I’ve seen on multiple occasions that doctors in China reported recovered patients seeing potentially permanent lung damage. They are out of breath after simply walking briskly. That is horrifying to me

Thought you were older than 25

That's a compliment BTW.

&

I've got asthma but it doesn't really affect me anymore, I'm not worried for my own health.

Why Telling People They Don’t Need Masks Backfired

To help manage the shortage, the authorities sent a message that made them untrustworthy...

many health experts, including the surgeon general of the United States, told the public simultaneously that masks weren’t necessary for protecting the general public and that health care workers needed the dwindling supply. This contradiction confuses an ordinary listener. How do these masks magically protect the wearers only and only if they work in a particular field?...

of course masks work — maybe not perfectly and not all to the same degree, but they provide some protection. Their use has always been advised as part of the standard response to being around infected people, especially for people who may be vulnerable.

It would probably be happening if we had anyone other than DT as president

We’re not doing much better and I’m mostly worried about Florida’s stupidity and incompetence but there’s no telling how this is already ravaging India.

I’m hoping heat and humidity slow the spread of this thing.

Ebola is a different animal but Obama’s response was excellent and well-coordinated with the international community. Trump just put his head in the sand because he’s a moron. As soon as China started shutting **** down and building hospitals we should’ve been helping and preparing here.

South Korea saw an obvious disaster coming and prepared and the people there have a sense of civic responsibility and community so they cooperated.

America is a country of selfish *******s and that’s how we’ve been dealing with this. Still people are packing nightclubs and restaurants. All the restaurants on the beach should either be closed or making scaled down takeout only meals. The entire culture inside the kitchens needs to shift to making personal space, slowing way the **** down for hygiene, and not just grabbing used dishes and cutlery and splashing it down in the dish room. It means a meal that would take twenty minutes will take two hours. Tough ****. But it’s just the same bull**** short of completely closing and right now it seems that Florida would rather die. Many other states too.

We closed the shop to the public. We have a nice online presence so we'll be able to continue to make income but it's still a bummer of a situation. Sh*t hasn't even hit the fan yet in the tri-state area. I'm expecting an explosion in cases, myself included honestly, in the next three days. We'll see what happens.

Police are on TV saying no large congregations at the beach.

Police here don’t play.

They’re not going to want to get within close proximity either.

Should be interesting.

The Batlord 03-17-2020 12:45 PM

VA still doing **** all. Restaurants are "advised" to only do takeout and carryout but remain open. The McDonalds across the street just closed for renovation so we're getting murdered at work so I'm gonna need my state to quit playin' around.

The Batlord 03-17-2020 12:47 PM

And hey, Yorke, if your wife is worried about you getting her sick then she can stay with me. :pimp:

It came up in the debate how they silenced the original whistle blower. Didn't mention he's now dead of coronavirus, allegedly.

China may have prevented 95% of virus cases if it enacted measures after silenced whistleblower’s warning

Can’t believe Virginia is doing nothing. Are they living under a rock? Also why is this not being handled at a federal level???

Yeah I'll bet gas stations are the last to close. Here they said all gas stations are to remain open as they are "essential" services.

Frownland 03-17-2020 01:39 PM

Ja I expected Virginia to be ahead of the curve per usual.

Gas stations can run on with just cards though

Idk I guess they need someone though

I haven’t actually walked into a gas station in years

OccultHawk 03-17-2020 02:37 PM

My boss just texted me and said they’ll put me back on as soon as they’re back and running. God Only Knows.

"Shelter in place" order imminent for my county. Going out on one more goods run before boarding up the doors and windows. I heard gun and ammo sales are spiking. I wish I had a crossbow.

OccultHawk 03-17-2020 02:56 PM

You’re going to board up your windows?

Is anyone else thinking like that?

YorkeDaddy 03-17-2020 03:59 PM

Starting to think I should maybe own a gun. I hate guns

Temperature reached 101.4, highest I’ve measured. Feel like an absolute bag of dicks. Tylenol does well for a while, I’m keeping a steady rotation of that in my system. I’ve read that ibuprofen may only make corona worse, so I’m scared to take it. Far from confirmed but if there’s even a chance I want no part of it

OccultHawk 03-17-2020 04:47 PM
