I was never counting on receiving SS benefits by the time I was old enough to qualify so it's a pretty sweet deal for me. Can't say that I'm counting on that first stimulus check to ever arrive either though, so I don't have much faith in a second.

It’s a loan. That means you’re going to have to pay it back in full or they’ll penalize you, up the interest if you miss a payment, garnish your check from work, and then after you pay it back with interest and the penalties after you **** it up they penalize you again by not paying social security. And don’t bet on not receiving social security. It’s hard to say.

Looking closer at it, they have you pay 1-1.5% interest until retirement so bet's off.

And SS is too unreliable and illogically designed to count on it. If I can end up counting on it that's neat but I'm not going to delude myself in the meantime.

I dont get loans sometimes nowadays u could ever be so lucky to live to 83

sometimes I think I wont even live long enough to reach 70

u cant pay bills when your dead LOL :P

Not so much in the US, but in Britain and Europe, politicians have picked up the term "herd immunity" from scientists and have touted it as a desirable stage to reach as each country battles the virus.
What it means of course is that the majority of the population have become immune and so the virus will no longer spread - it will be rejected by each new host. What politicians don't mention is this: we can achieve herd immunity by treating coronavirus the way people treated the Black Death - let it decimate the population and anybody left standing should be immune.
