As 2020 nears its end, the US reported a record death toll for the second day in a row, with more than 3,740 Covid-19 fatalities Wednesday.

And the outlook is grim for January. More than 80,000 Americans could die of Covid-19 over the next three weeks, a new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ensemble forecast projects -- offering a stark reminder the nation is still facing challenging times.

Goddamn

I wish it was only the anti-maskers dying. :(

More on January projections and vitamin D (for those who are critically ill) by an MD that I've followed off and on during the pandemic. Nice guy (for a Patriots fan) -

Thank you all so much for asking about her. Fortunately, she has not run a fever since Tuesday, so I'm hoping we're turning a corner now. Her coughing is still severe (she has a difficult time moving at all without prolonged coughing fits) but her breathing has improved. Senses of smell and taste, if not totally gone, are definitely a bit “off”. She reports that ginger ale and apples juice taste like grass to her. Glimmers of her sense of humor returning. Thank you all very much again.

If anyone here has the Citizen app, it tells you if covid is decreasing or increasing in your area. Mine has been up and down.

Welp, I got COVID a couple weeks ago. Had to isolate from my wife up until Christmas. I'm feeling mostly recovered, though I have virtually zero sense of smell. I'm getting another test tomorrow so fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear this, Janszoon - wishing you a complete recovery and good luck with the testing.

Thanks. I’m happy to report that the test I took today came back negative.

I’m glad to hear you daughter sounds like she’s getting better but sorry she was so sick.
