CBS morning show, amazing show but they said the virus can go through the masks anyways.

A barrier is obviously better than no barrier.

Your best bet is probably just washing your hands a lot when you go out in public and never touching your face or putting anything in your mouth until you've washed your hands.

My crystals create a meta barrier that can be the difference between life and death. Or not.

What I’m saying isn’t pseudoscience.

"Seriously people - STOP BUYING MASKS!" Surgeon General Jerome Adams tweeted. "They are NOT effective in preventing general public from catching #Coronavirus, but if healthcare providers can’t get them to care for sick patients, it puts them and our communities at risk!"

The CDC recommendations add that "the use of facemasks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings."

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said last week that the U.S. has a stockpile of 30 million N95 masks but needs at least 270 million more for health care workers alone to prepare for a more widespread outbreak.
So masks don’t work except they magically do start to work if you’re a healthcare provider. OK.

Sounds like the difference between breathing from an oxygen tank while getting groceries and breathing from an oxygen tank when you're on the surface of the moon to me.

Fact: If your daily routine brings you into proximity with an infected person you’re less likely to become infected yourself if you’re wearing a mask.

If it’s irresponsible to buy a mask when healthcare providers need them much more that’s how it should be expressed but saying “they’re not effective” for the general public is clearly disingenuous on a personal level based on the comments that directly follow. The Surgeon General‘s credibility is undermined by the self-contradictory nature of his comment. Just say it like it is.
