Nice double whammy a week after being extremely sick: I now have the epic combo of an ear infection+sinus infection. Superpowered antibiotic and nasal spray, $50 down the drain and a trip out into society later and I guess I have some hope at least that I'll finally feel better soon

edit upon reflection this should probably go in the Your Day thread, but the fact that this is piggybacking off of what I still believe was me experiencing COVID-19 last week makes it somewhat in relation

AOC warns she may force House members to return for stimulus vote, potentially delaying final passage

Amps up unemployment like crazy. $1200 to pad it. And she’s against it.

I never thought I’d hate AOC, who I’ve always loved, more than Trump but here it is. This move could possibly kill it. I’m appalled.

The New York Democrat has expressed her frustration with reports of the stimulus deal, suggesting it's too tilted towards corporations. The deal was reached between senators from both parties -- including the senior Democratic senator from her state, Chuck Schumer, and the White House.

On Wednesday, Ocasio-Cortez told CNN she is not ruling out asking for a recorded vote, which would force lawmakers to return to Washington and vote in-person, something that most members of Congress are eager to avoid amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Just die.

How does that compare to Lindsay Graham actively delaying the bill by trying to cut the payments to the lower class because they would get more from the payment than their job and he's scared that his gardener is going to quit?

Thought we were being nice now

What possibly could be the benefit of an in-person recorded vote I wonder? Probably nothing, she just wants to stick it to the poor

Why would I give a ****?

To frown

Because actions that are actively holding up a bill have more of an impact than criticizing aspects of the bill and floating that an in person vote isn't entirely off the table. Right?

It stops it from happening or spreads the virus

Whataboutism? Say it ain't so!

I keep hoping they aren't stupid enough to tank the bill at this stage, but they're doing their best to do so.
