A friend of mine lent it to me, it's about a sociology professor who follows and interviews a gang who live and operate in a Chicago project, as well as the other residents in that project.

Just finished re-reading Ubik by Philip K ****. Onto Pynchons' Gravity's Rainbow. Some Greg Egan is next.
