Who? Fitzgerald? You're talking to people who were assigned the book and who otherwise wouldn't read beyond the back of a cereal box.

True, probably. I've read the majority of books people are assigned in school and loved them (except for the Jodi Picoult that gets assigned in the ****ing English classes at COLLEGE)

oh & adidasss, everything David Mitchell writes is gold, dont forget to pick up the Thousand Autumns of Jacob De Zoet & Number9Dream. Soooo goood

Really? They assign a lot of ****ty books. Have you read the Scarlet Letter too? /shudder.

I loved Scarlet Letter, I think it was because I read it during a time in my life while I was high on dxm all the time, so they were so intense about everything, and I totally got that, so I loved it.

I however hated Where the Red Fern Grows

Haha - The Scarlet Letter and The Great Gatsby must be the most assigned reading all over America every year.

Myself, I didn't read them when I was assigned them in high school. But that's just because I didn't do stuff like homework back then. Since then, though, I've read them both and I think they're both excellent (Gatsby far better of course).

and ****ing Of Mice and Men. I feel like the reading lists for schools haven't changed since the 50s. Probably because they actually haven't.

Another great book, I feel. I actually read that one when I was supposed to (it's short).

In college I was assigned Henry James's "Turn of the Screw" about 5 times. I've still never finished that piece of trash.

****, I hate Steinbeck. We had to read the Pearl when I was in 9th grade and I've read a couple of his other books...they're shiiite
