The Hero With A Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell

Basically it's an examination of various cultures' mythic tales of heroism and finding a common theme between them all, and then exploring that theme. I got interested in the subject after watching a brief summation of the thesis a few weeks back in relation to the PSN game Journey and am curious how much of this relates to my current Skyrim character.

I liked this one. I'd recommend Power of Myth as well.

Taking a break from Russia for the moment and finally picked up a Murakami. I'm only twenty pages and am already in love with his writing.

I read this every 3 or 4 years to remind myself that immorality isn't so bad.

Don't look at me like that, and thanks!

AS IT IS

this is by far the greatest book written about The Process....written by a founding member and actually goes all the way through its eventual demise....also has a great chapter by Genesis P-Orridge talking about his own cult problems with Thee Temple Of Psychic Youth

SO BE IT

I just finished another Jack Ketchum novel. "The Lost." Although my favorite of his still remains "Girl Next Door"

After about three months, if not more, I am still trying to read The Stand. I have had the misfortune of picking up two agonizingly boring books back to back, and I just can't bring myself to finish it in spite of how popular it is.

After 250 pages just about nothing has developed, and I know there are still 600 or so to go. Someone tell me why I should keep reading this.

If you're older than 15 or 16, The Stand is probably not worth finishing.
If you're in that age range, The Stand is AMAZING!

I'm still reading a concise book about World War one. All I'm getting from it is how the Germans gained super power. Are there any other books about it that isn't mundane?
