Fucking stupid movie, but it was nice to see what Vancouver looked like in the mid '90's. Also, naked bum.

Yes, it was a welcome bit of black humor in an otherwise tired, unfrightening, and generally cheesy film

christ. i just tried to make a thread like this and i didn't even have time to edit my post after forgetting to fix something before it was closed. shmeesh.

Anywho, I just watched Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil last night. T'was a hilarious dark horror/comedy about the catastrophes of misunderstandings, believing in yourself, how our interpretations of other people affect how we treat them, PBR, hillbillies, spoiled college brats, and fixin up your vacation home and/or dreams. The way I described it makes it sound a lot less entertaining than it was, but I felt the movie had more going for it than gore and humor.

Man I like that movie. I personally rate it a 7 at least. I love the ending a lot.

Good call on Time Bandits, though.

Full Metal Jacket

This was good, my only complaint is that the second half could have used another 20 minutes, it feels a little bit unfinished in that respect. I was also expecting it to be a bit grittier and more difficult to watch. The climax was pretty damn intense though. Joker's a damn good protagonist. 7.5/10

It was kind of funny, but definitely not my first choice for a movie date.

i'm still of the view it's a doable Seven Samurai in space - no great shakes, but in the days of Star Wars, it was competent

One of my favorite movies ever. I had to give it a re-watch since I just purchased it on blu-ray. What can I say that hasn't been said before? George C. Scott! Peter Sellers! Perfect and a much deserved and rare perfect rating from me.

10/10
The Cook - probably my most sexual experience with a movie, cos watersname is such a MILF

Strangelove - overhyped, i expected better but Sellers is good

Not as bad as a lot of reviewers said about it. I didn't find Seth Rogan annoying and while it was Nick Frost and Simon Pegg's most mundane performances, the supporting cast held it together for it to not be a total waste.

Hell yeah. I loved this one. The ants were obviously very silly looking but the whole film blended and ran together to where I never lost interest. Great early sci-fi film.

8/10

Speaking of early sci-fi. Essential viewing for any fan of science fiction and in my opinion the only way you're actually allowed to make a Godzilla reference. Original and more serious than I expected it to be. Classic.

7/10

I watched the first half of this herbally enhanced and liked it a thousand times better than when I was sober. Don't get me wrong, I still liked it. A lot of people say it's a completely pretentious and they're mostly right but I enjoyed it a lot. I guess it's because I have the same thoughts in my head as some of the characters. Great mind massage movie.

Didn't quite know what to make of it on first viewing (I am sure I posted about this film before but can't find the post), second viewing; well it is stunning. I am rarely shocked by violent imagery in films but the hammer scene is so disturbing and all the more powerful for a such low budget film.

Mike Leigh meets The Wicker Man via Salo savagery.

Pretty much hated it. It was cool seeing Chris Hardwick in a movie and Rainn Wilson in an early role but the movie lacked so much. I liked Devil's Rejects and this just paled in comparison to it.

Pretty good war film that focuses more on the aftermath of the Vietnam War. I can always tell when a movie is made by Oliver Stone. It just has that feel to it. i don't think I'd put this is my top war movies but it was definitely a good watch.

7/10

Played out like a documentary which is typical of all Greengrass's films. I got pretty emotional during the attack. It was very well done and very VERY chilling. It's incredible what people can do to each other.
